The IFRC and ICRC are fiercely protective of how their recognised symbols are used, simply to avoid any muddying of what those symbols are meant to represent, and for good reason. This might not seem reasonable in some instances, but I approve of their "no exceptions" approach.

Why should a game be an exception to widely accepted international law?

I'm trying to think how they would have designed the Page character model so they could still have the (approved) shower scene including shots like from the top of the chest up, and showing the back but not the buttocks because of the towel, etc. They'd have to chop sections out of the model so the chest just stopped 1/3 of the way down, and the buttocks would need a wide band removed from them? Would the model just be a bust with lower legs and arms? Seems obvious why the full model was in there because that's how to modeling tools work, and nobody should have abused dev tool access.

Microsoft recalled all copies, sure, but it wasn't to reburn the disks with a patched version that removed the image in the error message, oh no no, that would've been way too much trouble... they simply added "nudity" to the labels in the boxes, and sent back all copies to retailers, leaving every gamer with the possibility of being *mooned* if certain system error took place...
I bought a box of random video game stuff from an old guy who was cleaning his garage. There was a playstation in it and inside the Playstation was the tiger woods game that has the south park video. Not bad for 40 bucks. 😂

I think he's be sorry his zombie was taken out of the game. Stardew Valley also had the red cross oopsie and mentions it being changed due to Geneva Conventions on the wiki.

yeah the red cross kerfluffle has been done in quite a few games over the year, just too easy to have the '+' symbol used for health and then it makes sense to make it red, and early games that had ambulances in them tended to use the red cross symbol like Madden back before the NFL required them to remove the ambulance that showed up on the field for some players injuries.

yeah the red cross kerfluffle has been done in quite a few games over the year, just too easy to have the '+' symbol used for health and then it makes sense to make it red, and early games that had ambulances in them tended to use the red cross symbol like Madden back before the NFL required them to remove the ambulance that showed up on the field for some players injuries.

@@JohnSmith-zw8vp Oh yeah it absolutely made a mockery of players getting injured, however the NFL didn't want the injury bit to be a highlight of "their brand", much like how they required the word concussion to be removed from the game amongst other things.
@@Mike__B Yep. Ever since 2016 or so, players cannot get concussions in Madden. Career ending spinal injury? Sure. Head injury? Never heard of it.
