The optimizer is to correct the fuel to air ratio on the efi brutes. when u add a free flowwing exhaust and air filter u need to add more fuel so it doesnt run lean. Pretty much a jet kit that is just plug and play.
@@Benerman2006 thanks, i used the webpage settings ,but somehow the bike at middle rangle keeps stalling like is not getting enough fuel or maybe to much, am running k&n aif filter,,
@@komunakomunale6643 interesting. I am still running the uni. No breaking up. I called HMF not to long ago and asked about different endcap options and were very friendly. Can’t hurt to give them a call. They have sold 1000s of them and u can’t be the only one who had this issue.
Which settings did you choose in regards for the optimizer? I’m currently looking to do this set up on my ‘19 and i ride in more than normal higher elevations and think itd be safe to have in case as well! Sounds awesome!
Sounds like stock but a lot deeper and alittle louder. I love it and still have it on the quad today. The optimizer is recommended for the slip on but I don't think it is required. I did it for safety measures.
it plugs in on the right side of the quad when ur sitting on it. just below the plastics by ur right knee. Its alittle tight but noting u cant do. U take off one piece of plastic in the front wheel well with the 3 pop rivits and 2 screws. simple enough
why didnt u just go with a full exhaust system? your already taking the rear pipe off, may as well take the front off too and go with the full system? my 2011 brute has a full big gun with msd and rips.
thanks man, Nice you will love the sound of the hmf. as for the optimizer, no u dont have to have one, but depending on your location and elevation it can help increase power. I bought it becuase why cheap out of a 9k machine. i would rather spend 200 on a tuner and not money later on engine work for running lean. jmo
+BillieHQ I personally do it for any change to my quads or cars. the ecu has learned the car or quad used to run. add more air in or out and it has no idea whats going on. resetting the ecu allowes it to learn what u have on there now to the best that it can. I wouldn't run it without the optimizer or a another tuner, not worth running ur motor lean.
+Benerman2006 I installed mine today it seems to be fine no back fire or wanting to shut off sitting so I think it will be okay but I will get one once I get extra cash
I researched online and even called hmf, they say the optimizer the pre programed from the factory for the exhaust and a filter. I am at sea level and thats where they tested and tuned for. If you live in the mountains u may need to change it up. look at the vid on here and they show you step by step to set it up for ur bike.
No rubbing on my gas tank only alittle at full turn and on a angle on the front skid plate. I trimmed it alittle and u would never know I did it. Besides that no other rubbing. I have a uni air filter and a clutch kit. Just a primary and secondary epi springs.
+Benerman2006 mine rub on a full turn to but I'll fix that soon, well that's good and the rims look like it help out a little bit too, nice wheeler though

@robert p. yea it was a pain. By now hopefully u got them undone but just like u. It was a pain. I used a long flat head to push down the unlock button and then once it clicked. Used the same screw driver to pry them apart. Lol. I just wanted them apart by any means. Good luck man

@bigtillful I love my uni. I have uni on all my machine. Good quality for a low price. My buddy had a twin air on his rzr and it was oiled right and still let dust and dirt by. He switched to uni and problem was solved. Uni ftw
myn rips pretty good to. I just didnt want to spend more money at the time. I have sxs to and try to split of the mods with my funds, If i had to do it again,. i would go big gun full lol

you said something about reseting ecu with battery I ordered a hmf slip on an uni with out the optimizer do I still need to do that

You do not have to but i always do. It resets the ecu and learns the new parts faster if u do though.

where do you plug the optimizer in? And do you have to take off all the plastics?
funny i wanted to get the uni like them better but had trouble finding.far as the melting so far so good,but yes after installed had the same thoughts
