rustynugget.r there was a proposal to change that in the water sustainability act being talked about in October 2018 to be included in the 2019 regulations. I havnt heard if that’s passed because I’m from Alberta.
@@GunsHomebrew I have herd nothing about it. Shame. It has been proven time and time again , that sluicing and dredging not only increases the feed in the stream but cleans the silt from the gravel beds for better spawning . Sounds like a win win to me.
Really good video Shad & Kathleen, I have poked around that area before, I need to get down that way again before too long. Keep up the great work my friends and I hope to be seeing you on the river soon.
Enjoyed watching, weather is cool but those days looked great. I spent an hour on my creek Saturday last week around the big rock. LOTS of black sand, maybe a bit of flour gold in the snuffer btl...
Not setting up your sluice properly. The bottom end has to be out of the water and the water is moving much too fast. For that speed you should put the keen in your sluice and make a 7 footer, then the water speed is ok but that speed is washing some of your fines right back in the river. I have my 5 foot homemade sluice and my manufactured sluice and together they come to 9 feet, which can handle high speed water. But you have to get the ass end out of the water. 1/2 inch water coming in at the top. Not 2 inches and then watch the ribs with a couple test pans to make sure the material is building up under your first 2 ribs evenly across the sluice. Im 57 and been prospecting since i was 4 with my dad and finding gold on my own when i was 10. I hope this helps.

Yes they do. Although you need to first dig and classify your material before running it through the stream sluice. We were in southern ohio in this video.
@@oSTYNCLSYo I've heard of some gold found near New Philadelphia. Most places we have been to are further west near Bellville and Mt Vernon. Chunckier gold is in SW part of Ohio.
Gotta love stream sluices!!! Its a great tool to help capture fine gold and isn't going to break the bank.
Truth, problem is , here in BC Canada we are not aloud to use a sluice box. Sucks to be us, Lol

I don't think you know how to use a sluice in the stream
@@kellystrangelove You clearly don't. I have been using a sluice successfully for 30 years.
Where did you get the blue clarifying bucket? I’ve looked for one and haven’t found it.
