- We're doing a 3 month motorhome adventure to Europe and in this travel vlog we run into trouble!
We’re on the first week of our Motorhome Adventure, a roadtrip across Europe and have already run into trouble in France!
We’re heading to Spain in our motorhome going south through France. We are full-time vanlifers and will be travelling Europe throughout 2024.
Vanlife can be challenging when you live full-time and there are always jobs to do, this week we need to replace our water tap, we learn how to use Aires in France and it’s the first time we use a French Laundromat.
We encounter bad weather and realise many Camping Car Aires are closed in the winter so we have trouble finding water for the van.
We check out the prices of food in a French Supermarket and meet a fantastic fellow traveller in his caravan.
Despite the issues we’re loving our Motorhome France Roadtrip!

The Aires de Camping we stayed at are:
Chateaudun, 80 Rue de Challet, 28200 Chateaudun.
Bezolles: Rue de Verneuil, 28270 Brezolles
AIRE DE CAMPING CAR
15 bis Avenue du Mont St Michel
61300 L'AIGLE

The recipe for Julia’s roast pork:
Layer a roasting tin with fennel, diced apple, peppers (whatever colour you like) and garlic, pop the pork chops on top and squeeze a lemon over everything. Season with salt, pepper and some tarragon or rosemary (whatever you’ve got at hand) and then give a liberal splash of olive oil and roast in the oven on high until the vegetables are soft and the pork is nicely browned.
Serve with crushed potatoes, simply dice with skin on, boil and drain, then add salt, pepper and olive oil and crush with a fork…delicious!! Add some gravy for a lovely warming meal.

Hi Roy, we've just realised that in one tonight, they are excellent aren't they 😍
You should be ok the telly! You’re such fun. I’m glad you sorted out the tap. I have to replace the tap in Flossie. I have it but not got around to replacing it yet. So glad you got water in the end 🎉
Ah thanks so much Mel 💕 We were literally like the saying Water water everywhere but not a drop to be had!! 🤣 Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment ❤️
As they say " the only thing that is always working on a motorhome, is YOU".. 😂😂 not fun to be without water but we managed it in the end ❤❤
Ain't that the truth 🤣 we absolutely love it despite the odd hurdles ❤️💕
Well done on the repair of the tap Gary.
You can still get your old tap online, but you don’t need to now.
Thank you for listening to me and putting the captions up high, and it’s good that you put a colour block behind the words, which makes it easy to read.
We love watching you two, I just laugh with you all the time.
Have fun guys - although I don’t think I need to tell you that 😂😂
Ah you're so welcome 🤗 I'm glad it worked, we can only play back on a small tablet ❤️ So glad you found us and are enjoying our journey 😍

I had a 2 hour conversation with those small statues at the side of the road before I realised. 😂😂
A dream gal, one who doesn't talk back 🤣🤣💕
That Gary is pretty dayumed good with the fiddly bits down under. I suggest you keep him on tap for the rest of your adventures! We too have rain here and spring flowers. Unusual for March in Ontario! Big love

@gatersontour ❤️
And in France, Hotel D Ville means town hall, it's not a hotel, as you stated in one of your videos. Please feel free to say thank you to nick, for these little bits of information
Someone already told me this one, just as well, I'd be trying to check in at the town hall!! 😁 We're in Spain now but when we go through France again I'll try and remember, thanks for taking the time to comment, all the best Julia and Gary 🥰
Great vlog, wasn’t that man with his dogs and mini caravan brave 😮 . You meet such interesting people when travelling !
I thought that Julie, he was so interesting and I love how he built it all himself, we were so lucky to cross paths ❣️
Another great Vlog 😁 Laughed so much at the"if it's illegal it was him, his name's Gary" 😂😂😂
Plumbing is the worst 😟 Glad you finally got it sorted 👍 Hope you find some nicer weather down south 😁
Hi both ❤️ Glad you enjoyed it, I'm a total grass on Gary 😂😂🤣 We're happy to have moved south for some sunshine now ☀️ Thanks for your lovely support guys, lots of love to you both, Julia and Gary ❤️💞

great job on over coming your issues. Don
Hi Don, thanks very much, we're having a great time here, hope you're both doing well 🥰
Hi just watched your latest vlog....problems getting water, we've all been there! Nearly every small town has a cemetery and generally where there's a cemetery there's a tap, good luck
Hi Dean, what a fantastic bit of information, we'll definitely bear that in mind. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment, great tip. Julia and Gary 🤩
Oh my goodness! Julia, I am very concerned. Did you end up smashing Gary‘s spuds?
Gary is a truly resourceful chap and we are very impressed with his handiwork, especially the bit about protecting the covering on the worktop.
We’re so looking forward to following in your tire tracks when we get across to France and exploring all these wonderful towns and villages That you are presenting to us with your great blogs.
Bon voyage!
Zoe, Malish and Keeva the Pickle.
Hi guys, you'll be pleased to know Gary's spuds are still intact 🤣🤣 Glad you're enjoying the journey, looking forward to seeing you guys hit France as well, lots of love to you all 💕
Hi love the videos
Hi Gary, thank you, and thanks for taking the time to comment 🤩
Following with interest as will be venturing to France in May. Ferry booked. Why is the water off in some aires? Is it the time of year?
Hi Saffron ❤️ that's exactly right, it's just because it's winter and they don't want the pipes to freeze. We understand they are open at the beginning of April so you guys should be fine ❤️💕
Ah thats good news, thank you for that info 😊
@@SafandAndys-MH-Adventures you're welcome 🤗❤️
Hi guys loving your enthusiasm!.. we are following your footsteps to France in May but are still fighting our way through the choices for wifi.. which did you choose in the end?
Hi Julie, thanks for the lovely comment 🥰 So in the end we just used Gary's existing package with Tesco. There is enough data for us and it will do for now. There is a 90 day limit but we're going back to the UK in May for a couple of weeks. Hope that helps ❤️
When in a french town or city that ends in a "S". The french don't pronounce the final S, say Calais to yourself, then you will say, Oh that guy is right
Hi Nick, you're so right! What a good little snippet of information, thanks so much 🤩 all the best Julia and Gary 🥰
