Drawing and Painting an EYE using watercolor 👁 2 in 1 course for beginner & advanced - let it shine!

- You will first learn to draw an eye in pencil.
Then (2'35) we will answer the question: how to draw an eye to paint it in watercolor?
And finally (3'55), we will paint an eye!
A great exercise to try with a photo of your own eye.
Do not hesitate, you can do it! I want to show you that even without making it very realistic, you can achieve a very expressive result.
Look at this eye, it looks like a small galaxy :-D
The secret ? Multiply the glazes to animate it and the bursts of different white levels to make it "shine". Do not forget to define the areas in the immediate vicinity of the eye, it saves life.

Material:
- Winsor & Newton color tubes, which colors to remember for this eye: perylene green for the iris, permanent pink for the inner corner under the eye, cadmium red and winsor yellow for the eyelids above and below , and a mixture of ultramarine blue and brown and perylene green for black black.
- important brushes for this eye: my famous spalter da Vinci, series 5080 and a brush 00, series 7 by Winsor. My little brush is a synthetic by Raphael, series 8796.
- Moulin du Coq le rouge paper, from the Hahnemühle brand.

I am thankful i began reading many of your blogs - before- i jumped into, and started using water colors for painting. you are an excellent instructor / teacher of water colors, and drawing, and sketching.
Now. I will jump into apply technical and fun for my first water color painting… the reference of upside down kitty cat you graciously offer for FREE download!
Then, my second or third water color painting will be attempts at my selfie of my "galaxy eye" in this instruction video.
I now can safely classify myself as a “beginner” who wants to be an “apprentice”.
My “new” goal is to become a “finalizer” as you wrote In your blogs:
….”beginners" have different objectives. Those who are ready to learn a little technique, interested in the medium itself, we will call them "apprentices". And those who want to do something pretty, right away, the "finalizers”…
I like your teaching approach of mixing technical with fun because i need hands-on feedback that technical instructions are really what i want and/or expect for this medium as you wrote in your blogs:
…”I advise all beginners to regularly alternate between purely technical exercises and more fun tutorials, which allow you to achieve something pretty right away”…
And, Felicia i found your blog of codes and rules very informative so that someday… i can wiil be able to call myself a watercolorist.

i am a novice and the method of your written decription in combination watching your video is my kind of hands-on learning style. i just need watch your video couple more times, and then take a photograph of my eye.
i goofed ordering Sakura Pocket Set Koi Watercolor Kit, 24 Colors Count... these colors are too bright. i then ordered and just received Winsor & Newton Professional Water Colour Field Box, 12 Half Pans. my studio working space is only 2 feet by 3 feet, and these small water pallets are what fit nice in my tiny art studio.
in a couple days i hope to have an eye for you to "critique" and comment how i can approach to improve it.
