I love how LEGO went all-out with new molds and whatnot for the 40th anniversary. Some really good figures, and a good review to go along with it!
I really like the Classic Police Officer minifigure!
I'm just waiting for a minifig scale Wacky Flailing Inflatable Tube Guy.
If you played a certain Lego kart game from 1999, you'll notice and recognise the flaming "RR" on the upper right portion of his Torso. And although it doesn't say on the packaging or the promotion, Lego themselves have confirmed to fans who remember that 1999 Lego kart game that, "Yes, the Race Car Guy IS Rocket Racer!"
Only took 19 years but they finally gave him an official minifigure at long last! The only things that Rocket Racer received before then were a beta version of his car and minifig in LEGOLAND Display scale for a games or electronics fair, and a LEGOLAND Display scale figure of his final LR1 design at LEGOLAND Windsor from the retired "Rocket Racers" Attraction which used to be the first major attraction after the initial gift shop area, now being used as "STAR WARS MiniLand."
I like the very first one just because of the cute little box.
Replace the unicorn guy's head with Orca's mouth print from the Batman Series. It'll be hilarious.
I'll be doing that with the dragon minifigure.
I read a great theory about how the spider suit guy is actually the Spooky Boy from an earlier series. Also that his parents are the Vampire lord and the Spider Mistress from earlier series. So it was his mom that made him wear the spider costume to the party.
Also I found the blue brick suit makes for a great TARDIS cosplay. Just put two blue vent pieces for the doors and a 1x2 police printed tile across the top.

I always tried feeling the pieces inside and guess. This helped me to get Flying Warrior figure in first try which is my coolest looking minifig.
I think cat girls face is perfect for a KISS costume. In fact as soon as you showed it I got flashbacks to Lois from Family Guy during the KISS episode.

I found these at Walmart on Thursday and grabbed five and loved them instantly. I was aware of the this series coming out, however didn't know it would be so soon. Favorites so far are the Unicorn Knight and Cactus minifigs. I was surprised to see that our local NV Lego Store didn't have these out yet, definitely a set I'd want to gather up, feel like there are so many unique minifigs, especially for my son who can't get enough of the blue and red brick figs.

For anybody trying to look for the Classic Policeman in an untouched box of 60, there's an easy way to do so without feeling the bags.

This just might be my favorite series so far. I especially love the orange bases.

I think that party boy is my favorite! If you leave the cat head off of the cat lady, sure, the nose is kinda strange, but it looks like a face paint costume!
Idea for stop motion. You could do a scooby doo chase and swap shaggys head in the plant suit as one of the classic disguises
I love the super cute mouse from the elephant costume minifig.
I love how this series has more costumed characters than actual people, I love the collectible Minifig line for that, my favorites from the set would have to be The Dragon, the classic police officer, and the cowboy.

Since Lego was celebrating 40 years of the Minifigure, they should have included a few more classics to offset the pointless rarity of Policeman. Like an early Spaceman, Fireman, and maybe the first Pirate Captain.

I agree to what you have to say about the limited availability of the classic police minifigure for every box of 60, it's like the whole Mr. Gold controversy again. But I also agree that kids won't be bothered about the possibility of not getting that minifigure since they probably won't care about the history of it and/or want something more detailed and fun looking minifigures that this series offers (not that I'm saying that since they're kids they don't know how to appreciate throwback things that LEGO anniversaries offer), of coarse unless they want to complete the series then I would probably be sorry for kids who would buy individual packs just to find that figure. Anyways, a great detailed look of this series!

The birthday party boy with the minifigure packs looks sort of like how I did back when those first came out, apart from the fact that I didn't have glasses yet
I think the racer was a reference to the rocket racer because it had the rocket racer logo from Lego racers

I have a moderate case of arachnophobia, but I have to say that I think Spider Suit Guy is my favorite. Honorable mentions go to Dragon Suit Guy and the classic policeman. My least favorites are the birthday party children, but only because they don't seem as flamboyant and idea as any of the others. Flamboyant doesn't describe the policeman obviously, but as an older fan he is a must have for me.
I think my favorites are the Brick People, will definitely need to find them!

Wow, this is an impressive Minifigure Series! All of the others seemed to have their fair share of duds imo, but I can't say I dislike any of these, not even a little. I'm not a minifig person really, but I think I will have to bite on this one. It's just too great to pass up!
My favorite figure is the race car dude.He's cool with the race car on.

Lego: hey lets celebrate something, give something back to the fans, but lets also mess with said fans by making one fig ultra rare.
John Smith hes not ultra rare. Its one in sixty. Just spend some time feeling the packs. I bought three packs on Tuesday and felt for about 15 minutes, and i got him.
(I managed to get them early because i went to LEGOland, and they were selling them)

I know Lego has made dozens of animal-costumed minifigures before, but the sight of a minifigure wearing a pet collar just seems really... off. I don't know, is that just me?

Felt for the policeman, no dice, got elephant and boy w/ balloon. First blind bag minifig purchases irl and it was so fun. Looking fwd to s19 cause most of s18 isn't very fun for me. I like elephant's alt face tho.
