- Join us deep diving into the Ski Civetta resort in the Dolomites. While many skiers only catch a glimpse of this breathtaking area while on the famous Great War tour, we've decided to skip avoid this full tour (we will explain in the video why) and explore the resort at the feet of the Civetta and Pelmo mountains in depth. Get ready to discover this "real" hidden gem of a ski resort.

Watching your exploits (and of course those of your sons) always makes me smile. Civetta, not just because it's close (45') but because it's just such a nice little varied ski area, right smack in the middle between my girlfriends favorite mountain (Civetta) and mine (mighty monte Pelmo). Sì la zona verso Zoldo é spettacolare.
Una meraviglia. A settembre ho fatto il giro del passo di Staulanza in bici in senso antiorario e quando si arriva a Palafavera, fra Pelmo e Civetta, è davvero un sogno...non che altrove 😀... Grazie della dritta di Pescùl. Sono andato a volte a sciare sul Civetta, ma scendevo ad Alleghe. Così si risparmia del tempo. Meglio lasciar perdere invece il bus sotto il Giau, anche perché la pista per arrivarci è spesso non bellissima quando vengo io a narzo perché esposta a Sud. Grazie Igor, sempre un piacere vedervi.
Sì Pescul é il punto di partenza piú vicino se si parte da piú a Nord.

Another great video Igor (and Gabriel)! I and many of the snowHeads group know the Civetta area very well as we have a week staying in Alleghe each year before we have the following week in Arabba. It's a lovely area as you say. Just one comment, I think you said you started from Pecol but the Fertazza chairlift which you took actually starts from Pescul? Thanks, Alastair Pink.

Civetta - ich liebe dieses Skigebiet!
Eigentlich ein Muss in jedem Jahr...Leider haben wir es dieses Jahr nicht geschafft (unsere Begleiter wollten nicht so weit Auto fahren).
Die Biathlonanlage ist uns auch aufgefallen. Cool, dass Rafael diese tolle Sportart betreibt!
Autofahrt ist wirklich nicht so lang. Bis Pescul waren wir in 45 Minuten. Es gibt leute die diese Zeit brauchen vom Ustaria Posta bis zum Heilig Kreuz Lift 😂😂
Ma che neve , ma che belli che siete ..... quest anno ormai i miei impegni mi portano altrove , ma l anno prossimi mi tengo una settimana libera e se fa bella neve , prendo l aereo e mi godo il paradiso
Con il "se fa neve" non arrivi mai .... bisogna partire e basta 😉
Conosco benissimo quel comprensorio, è il più vicino a casa mia e quindi quello dove scio quasi sempre. Lo ho visto "nascere" ancora negli anni '80 e poi crescere. Non è confrontabile con Plan de Corones o l'Alta Badia, ma il panorama è fantastico (Pelmo e Civetta ti osservano sempre!), le piste divertenti e per tutti i gusti, transfer facili da una località all'altra. Più che la Zuita, a me piace fiondarmi da in cima alla Pioda (mi risulta più comodo in quanto parto da Pecol) fino giù ad Alleghe. PS: ah, per la cronaca... al minuto 14.36 si vede il posto lasciato libero dal mio camper (ero tornato a casa quella mattina).

I am planning a trip for the first week of March this year. Ill be coming from the United States and its been overwhelming trying to plan this trip. The Dolomiti Superski is so large I cant figure out where i want to stay for sure. I want to do the SellaRonda each direction for 2 days and then Cortina area 1 day and then explore some of the other areas for 3 days. I found a hotel I really like at a good price in Pescul called Hotel Orso Grigio. I dont think i can ski the Sella Ronda from there though but i will have a car so I could drive somewhere else to start my Sella Ronda Loop. Or should i stay somewhere else closer to the Sella Ronda and just drive to Pescul to explore that area one day? Any advice would be much appreciated.

Hard to tell, it all depends how big the area you want it to be for beginners. Every resort in the Dolomites has from little to big ski area for beginners.
Probably the "Palafavera" area at the Civetta is more suited to beginners than Zoldo or Alleghe.

Another amazing video. Can I ask how the weather and snow is right now? I'm coming back to beautiful Dolomites next week, but a bit worried about the lack of snowfall and high temps.
As we say here ... every year the tourists "melt" away before the snow. Meaning that we still have snow also when lifts close when the season is over. So don't be worried ... it's called "mother nature" ... it's female (can I say that without upsetting anyone? 😂😂😂) and as we know females mood change quickly ... without notice* 😉

Bellissimo video come sempre ti seguo da più di un anno e anche io sono innamorato dello sci e della bicicletta...................Non ho capito una cosa, alla fine del video ci sono i campionati di biathlon ma non vedo la carabina sulle spalle dei ragazzi .....Io sarò a badia nei giorni dal 11 al 15 marzo purtroppo non sono riuscito a trovare ospitalità da voi ma sarei felice di passare a salutarvi......
La carabina rimane al poligono. Per motivi di sicurezza non possono portarla con loro durante il tratto con gli sci di fondo.
Cosa secondo me anche sensata perché il comportamento di qualche genitore sul percorso puó portare a gesti inconsulti 😂😂😂

The Dolomites and Dolomiti Superski are a huge area. You can let the destiny decide for you:
a) Print this map: www.valgardenaskimap.com/img/big-map/dolomiti-superski-map.jpg
b) put it on a wall
c) turn around 1-2-3-4 times and throw an arrow.
You will find it once on the spot if fate helps you. On the other hand, if you want to rely on something more... reliable, well, this is a place that people say is "pleasantly beautiful": www.ustariaposta.it/en/ 😉.

Ciao, I love your videos and been following you for a while. I'm actually going to the Dolomites for a week on Friday to ski and we are staying in Pocol, close to the Cortina Skyline. Amongst many things we would also like to do the Sella Ronda. Is it possible to get to one of the starting points by using the Skyline or is it better to drive a bit closer to another town and start the tour from there? Grazie mille
Hi Dominik! If you don't get lost in too much talking, hut stopping and picture shooting then you should be able to do Sellaronda from Pocol without any problem

It's la Zuita, from the top all the way down to Alleghe.
Love your videos. Is there a plan to connect Cinqe Torri to Civetta by lift for 2026 olympics? Then Alta Badia via Col di Lana?
Yes there is the project since 2018 ready. At that time the estimated cost was 68mil Euro. Probably now it already doubled.
Problem is to pass by Col di Lana as it is protected historic territory because of WWI:

Actually reaching Lagazuoi through Col di Lana is not really clever, because this is the windiest area of the Dolomites (there are also plans to build a wind park in that area) and this way lifts could be closed on so many days during winter. The easiest would to get a lift from Armentarola towards Passo Valparola and Falzarego that could also be open during summer for hiking tourists. But as in South Tyrol the law doesn't permit do build any new lifts (you can just modernize the actual ones) it is necessary to:
a) reach as soon as possible the Dolomites passes closure for cars during summer months
b) get the lift alternative to reach the top of the passes (as you can already do on the Sellaronda passes)

Grande Igor! L'avevo già visto questo video, ma cio' che mi fa davvero piacere è che un badiota come te riconosca la bellezza delle Dolomiti Venete! Io credo che Cortina d'Ampezzo - val del Boite, Alta Badia, e Val Gardena siano le tre vallate piu' belle delle Dolomiti, ma il comprensorio del Civetta e la Val di Zoldo hanno dei panorami fantastici! Gli impianti non sono moderni, ma credo che sia uno dei posti piu' belli di tutte le Dolomiti (senza ovviamente dimenticare la Val di Fassa e Arabba/Marmolada, che completano il gohta delle vallate piu' belle di tutte le Dolomiti. Un saluto da Treviso! E se prendi la bici per arrivare a Venezia, fammi un fischio che ti offro un prosecco! Un abbraccio!
Le Dolomiti sono tutte belle, dopodiché, come per l'arte, ognuno ha i propri gusti. Ad esempio quando sono in bici e faccio il Duran e Staulanza mi piacciano molto di piú il Moiazza ed il Pelmo che l'intero massiccio del sella. Ma forse é anche perché quello posso vederlo ogni giorno 😂

I was in Canazei in the beginning of February and skiing all the well known trails around the Stella a.s.o. wanted to explore new corners but didn’t manage much off that. Once I would like to see you make a lube around the Cinque Torri area. In my opinion one very impressing place to ski ⛷️

Was mir aber aufgefallen ist: Warum haben sie beim Biathlon kein Gewehr? Ist sicher eine dumme Frage angesichts des Alters. Aber wie schiessen sie dann?
Gewehr bleibt beim Schießstand. Kinder können es beim Langlaufen nicht tragen.
Ist auch richtig so ... wenn man sieht wie sich einige Eltern benehmen kann es ziemlich brisant werden 😂😂😂
