I'm in FRC not Vex, but still find these videos incredibly informative about different kinds of lifting mechanisms. I've only ever seen cascade elevators and continuous elevators used in FRC so seeing designs like this and bar lifts have opened my mind to loads of new design possibilities. Good job on the content and the robots!

Thank you for these videos man they are helping me out a TON! I've done Vex before, but all we did is build the basic clawbot, so this year is kinda my first year in Vex and these videos are helping me get started better. Keep up with the great work you're doing great.

Ahhhhhh scissor lifts... you should’ve made this video back when I was actually doing VEX competitions in high school lol

Hey i really enjoy your vex videos it is out teams first year and i was just wondering if you can make a video on vex pro tips and can you also help us with figuring out a locking system for the hood of our robot

I built a stair climbing robot with a scissor lifter and it was very difficult sometimes with the scissor lifter.

You should make a video on chassis designs

Love the video, but I never had a freshman say the word, scissor lift before

Then we had very different freshman experiences...

Could you add say multidirectional wheel on the scissor life to make it slide easier if you had it like the wall bot?
This is my first year doing high school vex so I have no idea if that would work

This is gonna be good for Spin Up 😂

this would really be a great endgame device for this year's spin up.
one question though, the linear slide (the bar with grips on it) i haven't been able to find it anywhere on vex. I only see the truck kit (the bottom that holds the bar in place) and the gear. do you know where I can find it?

if it's an aftermarket item, is there any other way to create this without the slide?

Hey Kepler, To rubber band it, couldn’t you connect rubber bands between 2 joints?

I had tried to do that one one of my test lifts, however, it didn’t seem to decrease the amount of torque required at the bottom, so while it helps it go up, it doesn’t make that much of a difference where it counts.

    I’m in 8th grade and I would say dr4b

Yeah I’m a freshman and I would say the same

Dr4b's are almost always better than scissor lifts. Being good with DR4B's is a good skill to have in vex.
