HOMEMADE CHICKEN SOUP CHINESE STEAMED DUMPLINGS! CHINESE NEW YEAR DATE NIGHT!

  • I usually purchase Chicken Soup Dumplings from my local Trader Joes but since we are having a Chinese New Year Date Night I decided to try my hand at making them from scratch which is a huge task! I made them completely from scratch from the chicken to the dumpling filling! While they didn't look perfect they sure tasted that way! I changed some of the steps and did things that i liked! The original recipe calls for pork sausage but I knew I wanted chicken. This is a pretty good recipe but it does take a bit of time to prepare and to be honest they are so worth it! Try this Delicious recipe
    Homemade Chinese Chicken Soup Dumplings
    1 Pk Gelatin 1/3 Cup Water 2 Cups Chicken Stock 2 tsp Grated Fresh Ginger
    1 Tbsp Cooking Wine 1 Green Onion 2 Bay Leaves 1 Tbsp Soy Sauce
    Salt and Pepper To Taste
    Place all ingredient into a pot and heat until mixture comes to a boil remove from heat an allow to sit until cooled. Once cooled cover and place in the fridge to set gelatin
    Dough
    3 1/4 Cup Flour Pinch Of Salt 1 Cup Warm Water
    Mix all ingredients once dough ball forms begin to knead. You will need to knead your dough 15-20 mins then set aside at least 30 min to rest the dough before cutting and shaping
    Dumpling Filling
    1 1/2 Cup Chopped Cooked Chicken ( I used leftover chicken from cornish hens)
    1 Tbsp Soy Sauce. 3 Cloves Garlic (minced) 1/2 Head Napa Cabbage
    1 tsp Grated Ginger Salt and Pepper to Taste
    Place napa cabbage in skillet and cook until cabbage becomes soft remove from heat and stir in set gelatin mixture. Place back in the fridge to set!
    Meanwhile roll cut dough into at least 10 equal pieces and roll out to 18" thickness
    Stuff your dumplings as seen in video and place in your steamer Steam 15-20 mins or until dumplings appear shiny! Remcve from heat and eat HOT and ENJOY!!.
