The reticle is not off. The camera picture points in a straight line. Therefore when you zero the dot it is for a certain distance like 45 yards. If the target is closer it will look like you are shooting too low and if its further it looks like you are shooting too high.
Stumbled across this, great vid, I have subbed.. Yes Gippsland is just rotten with this vermin particularly in my area (and all those foxes were in pretty good nick, I notice)
@@mchughcb Very true, my town / locality is wall to wall with them. You blokes are doing good work in your area and I suspect that all the local Cocky’s (particularity those with lambs) would be pretty pleased with your results 👍
Interesting video, the first I've seen using shotguns for foxing, several guys post videos using centre fire here in the UK but not shotguns unfortunately. I'll be looking out for the next one. What loads in your cartridges please?
Mainly use 32 gram #2 in 12 gauge and 31 gram #0 in 20 gauge. If i use anything more then the recoil is too high and i can't keep camera on fox. Most of these foxes were shot with 20 gauge.
@@johnhorsfield4361 Shotkam is the best camera on the market for this type of hunting. Other action cameras are too wide field of view and past 10m it is difficult to see.
Nice bit of "applied ecology" going on there! Those dachshunds look VERT well nourished! What size shot are you using? I have used a lot of No4 shot (1 1/4 oz load) on cats and foxes; nice compromise of pattern density and effectiveness out to 20m or so. Work well on pigs at close range: "rat-hole effect".
Generally using either #2 in the 12G or #0 in the 20G. I shoot between 28 grams and 32 grams. Heavy loads don't keep the camera on the target. A few of the shots were #4 in the 20G. The #2 and #0 will stop them at 50m, however you will see a few shots with the 27 grams of #7 Tungsten Super Shot will kill a fox too. That tungsten is very lethal at long range but very expensive.
Nice shooting on the red skins 🦊👍
I’m happy that you where showing the lead on ground targets.
Great shooting, all well smoked.Cheers and regards from Pakistan.
buen tiro yo jamas e hecho tiros asi a blancos en movimiento los felicito creo que es practica
Los objetivos terrestres en movimiento son muy difíciles.
Nice video , 2.44 is funny moments ..
Wow!
Great compilation.
Cost a bit.
Great vision. The slow motion is great.
It is recorded at 1/3 speed. When its at full speed people can't believe how fast they can run.
Brilliant watch that loved it.
Glad you liked it. Many enjoyable hunts captured on film.
Great stuff well done 🦊🦊
Yr like a surgeon with that shotgun u have it worked out perfectly
Great video... that a lot of foxes
What cartridge you using? Great video
@joefallon6767 Many types ranging from 12G 32-42 grams ranging from #4 to BBs and 20G 28-32gr grams ranging from #4 to BBs.
Great shooting! I can see from the comments below you are switching shotguns. It explains why the reticle is a bit off in some videos

Hey man great stuff. How did you film this ?
With a Shotkam Camera mounted on the barrel.
Good vid like how you used dogs aswell
Some of them foxes are better acrobats than footballers great vid
Great Video.
Video của bạn hay quá, quay được quá trình chạy nhảy của động vật
Reminds me of my boy days. Bloody great stuff. Thanks for the memories.
Great video!
What shoot size and choke do you use? I tend to use nr 2 (3,7mm) in my 12/70 iz-58 and full choke but Im far less experienced.
In general I am using nr0 (3.9mm) but I also use nrBB(4.2mm) and nr2(3.8mm) and nr4(3.3mm). The chokes are improved modfied, modifed and full choke.
Another great compilation mate, keep at em!!!
Nice shooting. I wish you a good view and a lot of shots like this.
Proud hunter .......
Great video. Fox central. Not sure how my 2 dachshund would go. But great to see them in for chase.
They are good for tracking them down if they make it into the bush and also good for see some I don't see.
Ойй как жалко рыжих то
Красивве какие они
Очень красивые животные, но они также едят много овец
@@mchughcb I wouldn't even call them beautiful
If you don’t mind me asking. So are you using dogs to get them moving or whistle? How do you do it?
Dogs are hot on their tails. I have other videos of whistling.
Great vid, what chokes?
Generally M and F. But in the triple barrel its IM, M and F.
Well done mate!
Upland Gamebirds...
Bloody hell
Great isn't it.
Hey mate, where in Victoria are you? a lot of foxes in your area!
Melbourne. There's plenty around all the way up to flinders st station.
Im in Ballarat region, do you know of any places around this area?@@mchughcb
🙌🏼
Great footage. Thanks Charles. I will watch it again a few times before we start up again next autumn. Cheers
Some motivation to get out there!
@@mchughcb yes, especially since we had such a short season with lockdowns and Gippsland floods.
Great footage! Thanks for taking the effort and sharing with us =)
Very good job done keep going very good video 🙏👋👍🍻
Well done that’s a lot of big 🦊🦊🦊🦊🦊🦊🦊foxes out the way 👏👏
Great video m8. Im having no luck so far this season 🥲
I need a Blaser D99, if you can't make any videos. We need more Blaser D99 hunting videos. The Blaser choice of champions.
@@mchughcb this fall has been very hot and dry.
And there are far less foxes than last year. I hope I will get some soon.
Around 1:30 you'd want to hope a flyer didn't reach the busy highway a few hundred meters behind the fox almost in the flight path of the fox
A shotgun wouldn’t even make it that far. They run out of energy very fast.
Stumbled across this, great vid, I have subbed.. Yes Gippsland is just rotten with this vermin particularly in my area (and all those foxes were in pretty good nick, I notice)
Literally any bush or hedge has one hiding in there.

G’day, what are you using to call them in?.
Think they're being driven by the dogs mate.
They are being driven straight to me by dogs and people.
Dang Chuck. Some of those guys were danger close! Nice shootin
Was coming straight for me.
Hunting with hounds
@@graememckenzie2065 ok, so
Where are the dogs?
👍👍
Don’t know how you shoot with the snags running around, I’d be worried about hitting them!
Most of the time they are next to me until shooting starts but occasionally they are off chasing with their little legs.
italian foxes Yeah
Good afternoon. Please tell me which country you hunt in?
Read the title 😆
Are you blind man? 😎 Its hard to fail when they come so close, but you did it great job
Great job mate a am thinking about doing a Fox hunting video on my channel
not for me prefer hounds and terriers working fox no guns bar from blockends but thats me brought up that way each to there own
So was I but how long do you think it would take for this channel to get banned if I showed coursing?
@@mchughcb legal in your country isn't it
@@whippetrunner9698 Depends which state. Legal doesn't mean it follows the TH-cam community guidelines either.

Seem to be more foxes than sheep in Vic!!
In gippsland you are right!
I don't know what other people were looking at but thats some of the worst shooting I've ever seen !😎👍
If he does the mount and shoot thing no video.
Đổi lấy mèo
Great video. I use only a rifle but can definitely see the benefit of using a shotgun. I would probably end up shooting my dogs if they were chasing.
You must be extremely careful and if the dog is too close then you just have to let the fox go.
Мазила
One shot one kill knot 3shots one kill 😞😞

I recon you need to learn how to shoot first
