@@1Andelina1 Dick Sargent was the original choice to play Darrin but he had other commitments. When Dick York, who played the first Darrin left the show, Dick Sargent was available to replace him.

All one needs to do is replace Barbara Eden and Larry Hagman with Elizabeth Montgomery and Dick York and add Marion Lorne and this would be a scene right out of the BEWITCHED episode THE VERY INFORMAL DRESS. Darrin's in jail and Sam pops in. Tony didn't treat Jeannie that well, either. Like Darrin, Tony was always afraid of her being discovered. Sound familiar? All Jeannie wanted to do was "serve her Master". I can imagine Darrin telling Sam that she had to call him Master. 😀 Sam would ask him, what mountain would you like to see the scenery from? 😀😀 Elizabeth Montgomery wasn't happy with IDOJ, not in a vindictive way, but more in the vein of it copying BEWITCHED. She knew those on IDOJ, since they shared studio dressing room areas. What did tick Liz off is when they introduced Jeannie's sister and when Bill Asher directed the rejoin movie IDOJ: FIFTEEN YEARS LATER. In an interview, Asher was asked about this. He said, "You should've heard what Liz said." 🙂
Basically the same show over and over.....Tony would make Jeannie jealous, Jeannie would cause something comically crazy to happen to him....and toward the end, he would apologize and she's save him. And that is nearly every episode.
