Dallas: Indian film and TV actress Neelam Kothari Soni, renowned for her appearance in the Netflix reality show Fabulous Lives vs Bollywood Wives, attended a charity event in Dallas, Texas, organized by 3Sixty Entertainment. During the event, she interacted with attendees and answered their questions candidly.
One Pakistani-American asked her why Indian audiences enjoy Pakistani dramas and if given the opportunity, which Pakistani actor she would prefer to work with. Neelam replied with a smile, “Perhaps the success of Pakistani dramas lies in their compelling stories and deep emotional connections. The actors’ brilliant performances and realistic dialogues make them unique.”
Neelam further revealed that she herself has watched several Pakistani dramas, especially during the COVID-19 lockdown. Expressing her admiration, she said, “I’m a fan of Fawad Khan. He is an exceptional actor.”
Neelam also shared fascinating behind-the-scenes details about her popular Netflix reality show Fabulous Lives vs Bollywood Wives. She revealed that the show was Karan Johar’s brainchild, sparked during a charter flight journey. Recalling the moment with laughter, she said, “We ladies were deeply engrossed in conversations about fashion and dressing, and Karan jokingly said, ‘You all are nuts!’ That’s when the idea for the show came to him.”
She admitted that doing a reality show isn’t easy, as nothing is pre-planned. “Everything in a reality show is real, though some parts are edited to present the story more effectively,” she explained.
It’s worth noting that Fabulous Lives vs Bollywood Wives is a popular Indian reality show on Netflix that highlights the personal and professional lives of Neelam Kothari, Maheep Kapoor, Bhavana Pandey, and Seema Sajdeh. The latest season also introduced new cast members, including Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, Shalini Passi, and Kalyani Saha Chawla.
While the show gained immense popularity among viewers, it received mixed reviews from critics. Some dismissed it as “superficial and unimpressive,” but public support helped the show win the “Glamour Squad of the Year” award at the Pinkvilla Screen and Style Icons Awards 2023.
