Furina is the type of person that just wants to start drama for the fun of it. At least she can be reasoned with

She just wants to prevent the flood by farming more drama energies out of their sins lol.
I'm not defending her, but it's clear that she's a slave to her own people, and to maintain her authority, she acts like this - basically mirrors them. To question a God in Fontaine is basically to question every person living there, and as we can see, they're very arrogant (we can see that in world quests too, for example, Virgil). Even Clorinda notices that, when traveler puts out his sword and asks wtf he's doing - not because she's afraid of him hurting Furina, but because it's a direct slap towards their system, which is build on the fact, that Hydro Archon is always RIGHT and, as a result, maintains peace and balance. With how things going for her, I believe she will be overthrown. Also, people are really dramatic with how they're treating this character, she's not nearly as bad, as they try to make her be, I understand that the annoying things she does to maintain her composure is well.. annoying, but to me it all looks like a bravado thing and extremely low self-esteem + fear of displeasing her people to the point where every thing she does is an Oscar worthy performance just to be sure she's still got it as an Archon.

I also believe she'll be overthrown if her composure was revealed that displeased her people, not to mention that celestia destroyed Khaenh'ria for their sins that Furina is desperately trying to wash away due to the water rising from probably an ocean forming celestia nail planted near Fontaine that the prophecy revolves around.
I still love, Furina but I feel like her reasonably bratty nature and her judicial system needs to mature as the Archon quest goes forward.
Furina gives off the vibe of a villain who keeps monologging about how the heroes are gonna fall into her trap, and the heroes don’t even notice as her traps keep failing around her.

My impression of her is that she suffers from a delusion of grandeur. Which could possibly stem from a feeling of inadequacy?? Like she has to live up to a great title, but she's flailing?? Idk

Furina is basically an ace attorney prosecutor:
-overinflated ego
-quirky personality
-had a perfect record until they come into contact with the protagonist
-make stuff up on the spot and the judge (and crowd) will just roll with it
-the ball is never in their court
-take personal offence to losing
-think they're infallible
-always have to save face
But the theories running around on why she is how she is, is actually pretty damn sad.

@@testerfox6998 I'd say more like Rayfa Khurain from Spirit of justice. I know she's not technically a prosecutor, but like it or not they're both integral to the cases and trials, both are quite bratty, both spiritual leaders and both are in charge of their countries

Venti does play around a lot, but when the time needs him to, he has proven to be wise, decisive, and mature about his approach.

i dont feel like she’s actually that immature. if this act she does were the real her then yeah definitely but this whole thing is a calculated performance to keep her people’s belief in her (even if that belief is just in her entertainment value) since that’s what holds the nation together. she’s still probably one of the less mature of the current archons but that’s only because she can’t see another way to get her people to like her, not because of her personality since what she shows in public is not her actual personality
okay so here’s my thing with furina: everything she does is a performance in the most fundamental way. she is putting on a show in order to keep the attention and love of her people (which is what a legitimate archon should have), and she believes that the character she plays is the only thing that will get her that respect. it clearly works as they are all bemused by her and love her antics, but because it’s all an act she feels like she HAS to keep it up at ALL TIMES in order to maintain any sense of legitimacy there is. even so, the people rarely refer to her as the archon, and when they do it’s not necessarily with an air of dignified respect. she is TERRIFIED of irrelevancy and she (probably correctly) assumes that they will not love the real her the way they love her character…which makes the whole situation worse. we see very brief glimpses of the real her when she messes something up in the performance, and she takes notice of her people’s reactions to this and has to double back down on the act at the earliest possibility. all she wants is to be recognized and loved like the previous archon but she truly sees no way for that to be possible unless she plays this ridiculous role. i’m hoping that the conclusion of the quest will be her doing away with the act in front of her people in the face of a genuine threat to them (the primordial water i’d assume) and when they see this and see how much she truly loves them they will give her the respect she’s been vying for every second of her reign. the act may be strange/annoying to you but it’s not really her and she’s doing what she feels she has to in order to be loved back by her people. this concludes my defense of furina sans twitter rage :3

Fun fact - the harvistokhm tree in vorukashas oasis or just the giant blue tree is the last reamains of the previous hydro archon, she died there while fighting the abyss, and then rukhdevta made a tree out of her body which kept fighting the abyss, their previous gods dead body is literally right around the conrner and no one knows 😂
A more detailed explanation - the lord of Amrita, aka the (dead) hydro archon, was fighting the abyss in tunigi hollow with rukhdevta, but she was gravely injured and so rukhdevta tethered her body in the form of the tree, nourished by the Amrita, now this entire area was entrusted to the great bird simiurgh (simiurgh was the daughter of the goddes of flowers and she gave simiurgh up for adoption to rukhdevta before she went ahead with her plan to help king deshret because she knew she would die) after which rukhdevta went to irminsul to cleanse it. simiurgh decided to sacrifice herself in order to stop the abyss rift and she was then fragmented into the various pari and the khvarena fragments. And in present day (for those who have done the quest) we help surish to stop the rift and revive the harvistokhm to its former glory

I'm pretty sure they know. The Oceanids of Fontaine go pilgrimages to the Oasis to pay their respects to their old Archon, and even humans know of the pilgrimage and make it themselves.
Paimon really started speaking facts a lot more lately, since the Bottleland update. I was shocked and pleasantly surprised.

Not exactly the main focus, *but I'm really glad Dehya was the one from Sumeru who's face we were going to see last.* Her character quest was awesome (albeit sad AF) and everything about her (except her sabotaged kit) is just so great and sweet, but not so overly mushy it feels weird.
Really hope we get to see more of her and Alhaitham and Cyno in future content together. *Those 3 working together were one of the biggest highlights from the Sumeru Archon Quest for me.*
Dehya is my absolute favorite character and I squealed when she appeared to say bye. She's the first character to appear in the Archon Quest of the next nation to say bye, I really love she got that special treatment.
that's what i thought too. so far the sumeru archon quest squad, especially dehya and alhaitham, is the only archon quest characters cast that i'm really gonna miss. the chemistry between all of them was amazing
I wasn’t expecting the Hydro Archon to show up so early into the quest and try to challenge the traveler. Can’t wait to see more of her, her dramatic personality is quite endearing and her design is amazing!

When Dehya said goodbye to us they played the song from when [redacted] said goodbye to people of Sumeru. It made everything even more sad.
The “sin” has to be related to the sinner of the abyss in some way. It’s why Celestia is hovering above Fontaine. I wonder if it’s also because Fontaine is getting quite advanced too. I hope we get to see something from celestia and not just the abyss.

14:06: I just realized after watching through parts 1-4 of fontain’s archon quest, (like, 3 times now, bwaaps making it 4) that the reason why (spoilers.) furina knew the traveler was coming was due to that random dude in sumeru at the beginning who told her ☠️ that, and all of the other details in later acts, which I just realized are shown before the actual demonstration.. like lyney and his “balloon” trick.
Only degenerate enough people know that a bit after meeting furina he tweeted something that got good ol'genshin Twitter mad 💀

Traveler been working on his Archon% and Arrest% speedruns, now they don't even wait for him to cross borders.
Love how nahida, the other child archon is levelheaded and wise, while this one is so airheaded, both are lovable.
I love furima's shinanegans 😂 She also clearly has insecurities and ig we're gonna find more about that in the later story quests.
I just hope they don't disappoint with writing her.
Visit the Fountain after Act 2 to hear her crying. Yup. I'm now no longer worried about her story.
I don't think Furina has a big ego per say but rather she's putting on a larger than life act either because the previous hydro archon was too good or because Furina doesn't feel she's worthy of being the hydro archon and is compensating. She's a people pleaser through and through.
I actually think Furina **doesn't ** have overinflated ego. Quite the opposite, I think she has a seriously low confidence and is hiding her insecurity by acting all high and mighty.
If you played 3.8 event (not a spoiler since it literally cannot be experienced again), I think Idyia is meant to be a teaser for Furina. Both are in charge of their regions but their roles are likened to a mascot. Idyia had low confidence and didn't feel happy about her responsibilities, to the point she was glad to be treated as a mascot while others would do her job. I think Furina is the same.

If you completed 4.0 Archon Quest and go to the Lucine Fountain you can hear Furina's voice wailing about how lonely she is and how much longer she has to endure. There are theories about how Furina has split personalities so this could be some sort of a sealed personality, but if this voice is the inner thought of the Furina we meet she's actually going through a lot.
I too have been super sad that the past 3 travelers stopped having the elemental 5th combo slash as a part of the constellations, was hoping for the hydro/electro/dendro slash like the anemo/geo one

But if we were to look things in the perspective of the NPCs, lyney and lynette checked all of the boxes of the descriptions of the disappearance case, they are indeed a prime suspect and therefor her accusations are justified

My thoughts on Furina (a bit spoilery but not really):
From what I could tell from her actions, she seems to be suffering from inferiority complex and is acting out like a child. Most of the oceanids went up and left Fontaine because they didn't like her and to gain her people's favor, she keeps them entertained by drama and theatrics because that's what her people are praising her for. Not only that, the prophecy seem to affect her heavily but she is desperately trying to hide the fact that she doesn't have an inkling of what is going on. It really feels like she actually wants traveler's help but she's too "proud" to ask for it yet.

Furina is such a meme and I'm about it. She's a very interesting character to have in a scene. Don't know if I want to pull her or interact with her, particularly, but she's definitely an injection of spice into whatever scene she's in... and her English VA is going totally ham in the perfect way.

If there is something going on in natlan that is causing accessive amounts of heat to travel towards the cryo nation, water would begin to flow into fontaine uncontrollably. All three nations boarder each other and could have that effect
The funniest thing is that whatever she says about being all knowing and powerful. We’ve already met Nahida who really knows all the matters and we fought Raiden which I believe is much stronger than Furina. So she’s just tripping.

I don’t know how many people picked up on it but that guy at the start (the one with the side eye) told Focalors about the traveler and paimon. She didn’t know about them until he told her so that’s how she was able to pretend to be all high and mighty when in reality she literally knew nothing beforehand lol
seeing bwaap semi-panic at the beginning about entering fontaine before starting the quest is so funny to me bc i explored almost the whole region before even going to the starting location 😭
i absolutely hated exploring sumeru but i still feel that i'll miss its golden era. the archon quest was so much fun, and the characters too! although i'm glad fontaine has been sustaining just as much fun so far!!

- people once lived in the ocean - they were one with it and couldn't live apart from it
- as time went on, people desired to live on land and developed blood vessels, encapsulating the sea within their bodies, and thus stepped on land
- if you ask him, when the water rises and takes them all, it'll be like they would be going home
- he feels that being "dissolved into the water" doesn't necessarily mean death
There are many words here that need to be highlighted but that would be considered a tooooo much of a spoiler. But I want to say that I had 0 recolection of this conversation and seeing it after the finale feels incredible

Played this day one. Furina is 2nd best to Nahida. Underwater exploration was a surprise with how well it was done.
After Fontaine AQ Act II, you can go "Inside" Fountain of Lucine and turn off Music and SFX Audio (but keep Dialogue Volume slide to full).
