I recently broke apart a 1940s puffy heart charm bracelet valued at $1000 due to the rarity of many charms. I tried listing it for $495 and over a month received several $150 offer, or the value of 1 charm. It was surreal. I ended the listing and sold all the charms separately for a total of $1200. Every time I get caught trying to keep items together that have lived together for decades I get disappointed. I'm glad to hear that you have the same issue and its not me. I am even reluctant to sell a Demi parure set since the parts are often worth more than the whole.
I want the pieces I sell to be enjoyed. Maybe somebody would love one or two charms, but doesn't like the others. I know what you mean. Thanks for watching and thanks for your comment. Hugs
13:23 YAY! FINALLY! I think I may have figured out what a necklace I have is made of. It has the same look as that bracelet. What does Rhodium show in a scratch test.
At about 27:00 - Pendant with brown stone appears to be smoky quartz (often marketed as "smoky topaz") - right color and quartz reading. The pendant you identified as jadeite seems to me more likely to be nephrite or possibly serpentine, which have much lower dollar value than jadeite. I don't think the presidium tests for serpentine, and the readings for nephrite and jadeite overlap. Most nephrite is a darker spinach green, but you see a lot of variations. I've seen a lot of carved or cut pieces like yours at gem show in various shades of green and brown. Many are beautiful and work very well with other stones in elaborate necklaces but are not of great value on their own.
OMG X 1000! That Gilt Kropfkette in your eBay store is so special!! You see those types of jewelry in shows like Downton Abby. I was unfamiliar with the name within your description. What I found most interesting when searching online was this: “A Kropfkette or goitre chain is a choker comprised of multiple rows of chain with an imposing clasp at the front. They were originally worn to hide the ugly swelling caused by goitre, a disease of iodine deficiency endemic in the high Alps during the 1800s. “
please research better on that green pendant which ur Gem Tester indicated as Jadeite! Jadeite is considered a more PRIZED of the two forms of JADE. If u can confirm that it is Jadeite ( Imperial), it can prized more than u showed on screen!
