    I must say this happened the same to me too . Last year, I quit my job to pursue trading which was a horrible idea to do it and I ended up losing all my money. And even worse part was that there was no job to be found due to pendamic but luckily last year before Christmas I found a job with the competitor organization giving me a better pay. But I will not give up because I knew then and I know now that I can do it. Just gotta be more disciplined.
    All the best to all the traders out there!

      Yeah. You have to always stick to what works for you. For me. I follow the macd with a 10 time average and go from there. I made 14k out of the 25k I put into my account. But as soon as I increased the amount I trade with I'm currently down 4k because I got scared, didn't wake up almost every day ( I try to trade every day) and left a Position thinking it was gonna fail when in reality it moved in my favor. Lol

    when you come back from that depression phase, that is when you are your strongest. Most people can't get over it. Just keep showing up and getting that screen time. I went from I gotta get this down in a x amount of time to I'm sticking thru this because this is what I want to do. If your WHY is money, you will never make it. Find your why and fill in the gap to your why

    I'm at the part where I know my edge, but I still struggle with the discipline required to execute it without all the noise. Taking trades that my own rules dictate I shouldn't, because I'm focused on getting that profit, instead of trusting it will come.. its easier said than done.
    Quit my job and after a year got a part time job on the weekends to help pay the bills. Here's to not blowing up my account. 🙏

    Same situation. I've seen a number of comments to this effect here too. I was lucky enough to go through that first round (I got laid off), but then jump to the part where i found the easy gig to allow the side gig as well. Now focussing on the discipline part, which is truly the hard part. Nice to see you make it through to the other side B. Good luck all! Don't quit 💪

    • @thegravelbro
      @thegravelbro 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      What easy gig did you find? I’ve been on the hunt as well trying to figure out something I can do and still trade.

    • @pmc5917
      @pmc5917 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@thegravelbro It was a interesting the way it worked out I suppose. I was trying to climb the corporate ladder (=lots of hours) when i got laid off. I took a year off, realized I wanted to trade, but also realized I needed a job to pay bills. I purposely found a 'demotion' of a job that was more entry level with the ability to fully work from home (that was key). So, my position is just.. easier. I can accomplish what I need to quickly, allowing me time to multi-task and keep working on trading. I hope this helps and you find what you're looking for 🙂

    Omg what a life changing video! So glad I came across this. I am actually walking the same path you already walked. Literally Im talking to myself about quitting my corporate job because I work and trade and multitasking had me hit major losses. Also the last sentence, its all in your head and how you view yourself as a trader. I need to break that barrier.

    Very inspirational, thank you for sharing. I've been wanting to quit my job for many years now but haven't built up the courage and the funds to do so yet. The pandemic was a blessing in disguise for me because it gave me a chance to put more time into trading so it helped me to see what strategies that I was good at, and not so good at. I basically broke even, but what started to trip me up was the money I had saved up was getting lower and lower and no income coming in really messed with my psyche so I had to get a temporary job until my industry opened back up and I could go back out to work. Now that I'm back to work my goal right now is just to save as much as I can (more than a year) because the time off proved to me that I can do it but I just need to ensure that I have enough money put away to allow that to happen.

    My situation currently is kind of the same like you was. I asked my employer to give me night shifts only so that I could have all morning and afternoon to trade. At the beginning of this year 2022 I started with a plan. I got 2 loans which add around 6.5k together. I said to myself I can use that money to day trade instead of waiting a year of money saved. I can make huge gains and pay down the loans with the gains in no time. If this works i’ll quit my job before 2022 ends. Boy was I wrong too. First month and I have made nothing. 3 months before 2021 ended I lost a lot too. So Im on my 5th month of loosing money.
    Luckily for me, I have not quit my job and I’m barely making it. I still have about 60% left from the loans but its all in swing trades, waiting for it to back up.
    I feel a connection with you when you say that even though you were loosing and not making any gains you still loved what you were doing. That’s exactly me. As soon as I learned about the stock market I knew this is what I want.
    I have had jobs of all kinds, I don’t like anything. I have really fell in love with the stock market and I won’t quit.

    I quit my job for the cause. I found it impossible to focus on trading and work a full time job. Even if you’re right on a trade you miss the exit because you were in a meeting.
    Yeah, you can preset buys and sells but you need to study live price action in real time over a long period of time to really get an understanding of what’s going on. Ive learned so much about trading and myself over the last 6 months by sticking my face in it every day. What’s fascinating is I used to loath Monday’s, now I can’t wait for Monday morning.
    Then you run into a week like this week and realize you still have a lot to learn. Geez, what a circus, 1000 point swings multiple times a day 🤪
    There is no magic bullet, just keep doing it and you’ll get it.

      i agree with you, and think the same. it’s really hard to work and daytrade, for me aswell it was mostly contra productive. how is it going? market has been catastrophic this year.

    • @floydsmithjr7999
      @floydsmithjr7999 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@nina777_doit Im surving this turbulence. For a while I was swing trading to avoid the daily stress, but Ive recently switched back to day trading with a new perspective. So far it’s working. I think the most important thing in this environment is to look a week out on market news, earnings, global politics, and try to anticipate any large fluctuations. Like today’s action, up up and away, pretty much for no good reason … until tomorrow. I think there may be short covering going on today, there really isn’t anything major tomorrow except for some earnings and housing numbers so who knows. It’s gonna be a bumpy ride to the elections so buckle up. And now Mr Xi over in china has acquired a lifetime time appointment so there’s another question mark surprise at any moment, of any day, of any week.
      One things for sure, gotta be careful, this is no time to be a hero, if you get a profit, take it, a twenty dollar win beats a twenty thousand dollar loss every time.

    I realized that the secret to making a million is saving for a better investment. I always tell myself you don't need that new Maserati or that vacation just yet. That mindset helped me make more money investing. For example last year I invested 80k in stocks (with the help of my Financial Advisor of course) and made about 246k, but guess what? I put it all back and traded with her again and now I'm rounding up close to a million.

    WOW! This is basically my story. I saved up a year's worth of income, quit my job, and failed that year thinking I knew it all. Inspiring to hear your story. I'm saving up for round 2, but instead of going full-time like you did I have a part-time job so I can day trade every day and be stress-free. Even though I wanna quit badly, I'll be staying until I'm consistent which I know will take years. But I love day trading so much just like you that I cant even imagine myself doing anything else in the future.

    5:11 man... My parents said they were really disappointed in me that I left school to pursue day trading. Now I'm paying their rent. It really bums me out cause now they tell everyone " oh yeah, I always knew he was smart" and all this other bs. It made me have such a deep core of resentment towards them, I rarely see them as a result now, but knowing they don't have to pay to live in their home makes it easy for the both of us to not communicate lol, I'm glad you have a supportive family and wife man. That is more rare than a profitable day trader. 😂

      One thing Ive learned is don’t panic trade because you have to make money immediately. Be patient, wait for your set ups.
      What I’ve found is when you get into that nervous “I need a win” mindset you start seeing things in the charts that aren’t there. Its a trippy mind game when you put yourself on the line but in my opinion it’s worth the risk. I don’t think you can do both at the same time, working a job and trading, eventually you’ll lose your money working while trading or you’ll get fired from your job for trading while working.

    Enjoyed your video Bro! I've done the same thing...been in and out of jobs for the last fifteen years or so.
    Got into day trading in 2007 when I inherited 100k from my Grandmother when she passed. I "gambled" with it slowly, didn't put it all in at once. This was 2007 and 2008 right when the market was on the verge of a major crash. No one saw it coming! I was listening to the talking heads on CNBC, Jim Cramer and the likes. They all kept saying buy buy buy! But the market kept sinking! I had no clue as to what I was doing. I got into it because I was in a horrible hated job and I kept looking at the market at the end of the day and thinking Geez. If had bought 1000 shares of this or that, I would have made 3 or 4 thousand dollars today. That was like 2 months salary for me back then.Anyway, the market blew up and I ended up taking massive losses like 10 and 20 thousand dollar hits on single trades, till the account was drained. What an idiot!! Long story short, If had of just invested the money long term and never traded it. I would be sitting on over a million dollars today!! But, I still have not given up hope. I still day trade and am getting better at all the time. But, i still hold a day job. Its not too bad. You just have to understand what it is about day trading that makes you want to get into it. If youre thinking youre going to quit a comfy job and sit on the beach all day and sleep in a million dollar mansion with a Lanbo parked in the garage...think again! Aint gonna happen. i just want the freedom from having to be somewhere every effing day, and to be able to just relax and have time to enjoy myself. Very simple, I think! Anyway Good luck to all, and never give up!

    1. You have massive ballz
    2. You are absolutely nuts for leaving your job without having a test trade account consistently making money! Shows you have heart (but obviously a dumb choice)
    3. You're my idol.
    4. I'm a physician in the US working telemedicine at home, and want to eventually be a trader. You'd call me crazy if you realized what kind of a job I would be giving up but you have to do what makes you happy, makes money, and is not as time consuming (what makes you happy just does not cut it anymore).
