This song is one million times better than 99% of all the american made pop music that floods all over the world. Another good example that culture doesnt come from the west but from the east, where people do things like this for thousands of years already.
As a kazakh person, I must say, we do mostly deny our connection to Mongolian culture, leaning towards turkic world. But this amazing piece made me realize how close we are to the mongolian half in us. Many similarities in instruments, and, surprisingly, that unique deep throat singing. Language wise, we have adopted mostly the pronunciation, our language is still turkic. Being a big history fan and a meloman, this puts many pieces together. Amazing, thanks!
Why you deny your connection to the mongols. Even i as turk from turkey feel me related to the mongols except that im elhamdullilah muslim. I feel like turkic people like kazakhs, uzbeks azerbaijanis are my brothers but mongols, japanese and koreans are my cousins😉
this is so deep... i used to listen to rap and a bit of metal most of my life... about a year ago started listening to this and hun hur tu... people give me strange looks during the summer when i drive around with windows open and this song playing... but who cares i enjoy this way too much... and this song along with hunHurTu's Charnohory (or whatever it is spelled like) are my favorite ones... guess i need to learn Tuvian and mongolian languages to apriciate it even more
you should try to learn khoomei and the other styles (like kargyraa and sygyt). You can found pretty good tuvan throat singing lessons on the Udemy site, on the "Find your voice of nature" course. It is where I learned it. I recommend Alash ensemble for you to listen.
Well, I am an american, but not all of us are ignorant. I love this music, and music from all over the world, even when sung in languages I cannot understand. I will admit I have met a number of people who will not pursue listening to music that is not in their native language.
Love this modern take on khoomii. After hearing all the ancient renditions, who'd have thought it could sound quite like this? Terrific stuff. Thanks for posting!

I've listened to this more times than I can remember and never tire of it. One of the most impressive things I've ever heard. The Tuvan vocal technique is simply extraordinary but I also love the ever-so-slightly Indie look of the rhythm player and drummer. Everyone should hear this and realise there is just so much out there to hear. It was so difficult to find this sort of thing before TH-cam
Ian Dewar Totally agree. Watched 'The Story of the Weeping Camel' the other night (awesome!) which has Mongolian music as a backdrop. Jumped to YT and found this and lots of others. Cannot stop playing this track. Flawless, superb music. Thanks +wu1ming9shi for the translation. Thanks +Ranna MV for the iTunes link. Exactly what I was looking for.
@@ganaa1220 Actually this is Tuvan, if it were mongol he'd be singing isegree. This is sygyt, the khoomei sounds very Tuvan too me too. The mongol humii is much different noticeably in the tonal qualities and how it is performed.

There was an american blues/jazz artist who's name was Paul Pena who died in 2005 I think but he managed to teach himself Khoomii and was especially good at Khargyraa and because he had such a deep voice he was called "Earthquake" by his friend Kongar-ol Ondar.
It's not difficult once you get the hang of it. You need to distort the space inside your mouth/throat/nasal area by manipulating your tongue position and mouth shape. Sounds tricky but isn't really.
Thanks to the person who identified this as Haya band but I've not found anything else with the male vocal. Lots of good stuff with an impressive female singer which I'm grateful for.
