Sir Rey is one of best automotive reviewers, straight to the point and gives you the pros and cons which is very informative as if you are reading an automotive magazine or listening to a podcast.
That dashboard and steering wheel is drop dead gorgeous. And the power output is evidently far more superior and more enjoyable comparing to your ZS Alpha drive test review. I cant afford the monthly of this as of yet so i am leaning on getting Alpha for now. Awesome review as always!
Very good review and a very excellent reviewer. Ang quality ng content nyo Sir, mejo naglaway ako sa ZST (bought our MG5 Style last April this yr). Thank you 🎉
Wet or hot, still a very enjoyable and great review sir Rey! And I love for you to make a comparo between the MG ZS Trophy and the Geely Coolray! we'll be waiting.
MG ZS has been active since 2017 so now is the perfect time to have the facelift version. I kinda agree that the prev model kinda resembles the CX5. But after researching, i was surprised that MG really utilized those oval grille on some of their their classic roadsters. So safe to say that MG has the right to use that oval grille. Also, one of MG’s advantage among its rivals is that MG is available and selling well in almost all continents and with key markets such as Australia, UK and India. Your Chery’s and Coolrays isn’t even available there hehe. Peace tho. I like them too. I just hope the ZS EV, MG ONE, the delayed Rx8 and Marvel R reach us someday. Oh wait, plus the XPower MG6 sheesh. For me, the digital cluster of the ZST is the most refined among subcompact crossovers with digital clusters in our market. Readable and not confusing. I also like that MG didn’t opt to use a DCT tranny for the ZST, so in terms of longevity of the tranny, it has an edge over the others who use DCTs. I do own a ZS Alpha but I don’t regret having it. I can still remember the first time I saw the ZS, RX5 and MG6 when my dad brought me to the showroom and I was really blown away by the 3. What I regret about the ZS is that it doesn’t have AC vents and second row lights. Its power is enough for me tho sometimes it feels weird that while driving on the expressway, at 120kph the engine wants more juice rather than to have the needed power at low end speeds. As what the reviewer is trying to implore us owners. I’m sorry but I kinda felt disrespected. And again, I don’t regret having the prev model ZS. Yeah, it has shortcomings but afterall, who is the pioneer premium budget subcompact crossover that shook the market?
@@stephena7735 I am planning manual version is it a good option or should I move to other car as iam little bit spectical about Chinese car what will be the long term relaibility of the car
Manufacturing quality in general esp pagdating sa durability of their transmissions, the ABS module sounding off, leakage sa sunroof due to poor quality sunroof seals, so-so infotainment system, and the head gaskets of the cylinders being prone to oil leakage if the car is being used for long periods of time everyday and if pangit quality ng gasoline (Subaru has a much worse case since the cylinders are positioned sideways pero they reinforced the gaskets thankfully. i rly hope they addressed with this new turbo engine). This problem is consistent with other PATAC small engines that also exist in Chinese Buicks and Chevrolets (yes SAIC developed the engine with GM and we all know GM's measly track record with quality being good for the 1st few years but long-term ownership turns the car into a money pit). Tapos sana improve rin nila yung aftersales nila because medyo inconsistent between dealerships yung pag order ng parts (yes they have to order pa esp yung sunroof cover motor unfortunately, which meant we had to keep the car indoors muna since mainit). Been told to take it easy on the driving para tumagal yung car, pero that speaks volumes talaga when such cant be said about other models with higher quality engines, so if anyone plans to keep their cars for a long time and use the engine alot then MG may be down the shortlist for now: extremely nice design with loads of tech features that become liability in the long run if the small details such as door seals and component durability is not addressed.
You said in your review that this is a 4 cylinder turbo. I went to their website and there's no mention of how many cylinders. Other reviewers didn't touch the topic. So what is the true cylinder count because most Chinese cars with a turbo has only 3 cylinders. A 4 cylinder turbo is too much for a car at this price range. Thanks.
Engine wise yes pero this is using a 6 speed auto rather than a dct. So may advantages din. Rear ac vents, and cheaper by 40k php. Biggest advantage I see from the ZST would be parts availability since this same model is being sold on other countries like AU/UK/India and top seller to for those markets the parts for the ZST would be easier to get compared to the Coolray.
