Prawn biryani Recipe in Tamil | Eral Biryani | Prawn Biryani in Pressure Cooker

In this video we will see how to make prawn biryani recipe in tamil. This prawn biryani / eral biryani can be made in a pressure cooker. First we are going to make a tasty prawn thokku and then add basmati recipe to it and when the rice is cooked in the prawn thokku it absorbs all the flavors and results is a great biryani. In this method, the prawns is fully cooked and does not dry out and retains all the texture.

2 tbsp oil
2 tbsp ghee
1 bay leaf
1 cinnamon
3 cardamom
4cloves
2 large onion (slice it thinly)
some salt
I inch ginger
(4 garlic pods
2 green chilli
Some coriander leaves ) paste it
Add 2 tomatoes
¼ tumeric powder
2 tsp chilli powder
2tsp gram masala
Cook it until it become like a thooku
Add prawn (½ kg prawns)
Cook for 5 mins
Add mint and coriander leaves
Cook for 1 min
Add basmati rice (400 grams) soak it for 30 mins
3 cup water for 2 cup rice
Add required salt
Cook for 1 whistle in medium flame

I tried this recipe twice in last 2 months. First time I didn't marinate prawn as the recipe did not say so. Family felt that the prawns were bland in the biriyani. Next time, I marinated it with salt, tumeric powder, kashmiri chilli powder and lemon juice for 30 mins and added to the biriyani. It was delicious the second time and we could not stop eating it. It can easily beat a restaurant dish. Thanks for the recipe.
