I love rain. Every time I say that everyone just goes “That’s weird, sunny days are the best!” Rainy days are so calming. I don’t even mind walking outside in rain lol
Seriously, some of my best memories with friends and family were on rainy and snowy days. I find them much more calming and aesthetically pleasing......plus I just love good ol' cold weather over hot weather.

Funny but TRUE, I "painted" digitally Lee H. Oswald during a downpour while listening to multiple rain videos, this one (the most realistic) among them. He is innocent (emphasis on innocent!) and cute (he WAS handsome I think), of course as all my Oswald art is, and this one is at night, from the perspective of a passenger in the cozy interior of an old 1940's or early 1950's car. He is turned with his eyes to the viewer, smiling broadly (yes, old photos show Lee Oswald could smile), and soaking wet and VERY sexy with big curly locks dancing on his forehead and droplets all over, rivulets running into his chest hair and soaking his furry forearms (he has doffed whatever shirt and jacket he may have had on and remains in his V-neck undershirt, STILL soaked to the bone). There is fog on the driver's side window and a vague blue glow, presumably a street light or maybe even lightning!- illuminating a mosaic of droplets on the partial bit of windshield in view. Needless to say he is very handsome and ready for some cozy time, since, well, the real Lee Oswald never learned how to drive. But then, this is a Fantasy Lee, so who knows...

I closed my eyes and imagined myself back in Scotland and in the tiny stone cottage I found. by the sea. It stood by itself, in a wee bay with its front door and windows facing out to sea but at a bit of an angle so the wind didn’t hit it full on. Now the roof is gone and so is the door and glass, but in my mind it was sound again just as I imagined it every time I went there. I imagined the roof on, its wooden rafters holding the slates, it’s crow stepped gables outlined against the sky, the stone walls inside gleaming from the light of the fire. Once this was a fisherman’s cottage, it’s small but in my mind it held a wooden table and bed by the window, two chairs stood by the fire, backs high and softened with blankets. Couthie, the Scottish word for cosy, a couthie wee cottage for nights the wind lashed against it, full of sea and salt, the rain running of the roof rinsing it clean again. The air was full of sound, rain, wind and the roar of the sea. I loved it, I love it still. I knew once the storm passed the air would be full of scent and only the birds would be heard, or if you listen very closely you’d hear the sound of sea as the tide came in softly filling rock pools with tiny sighs. Those days the calm sea, the rising sun glittered across it, the sky and sea pink and gold, the tide came in with gentle murmurs against the shore. The shore itself was full of stones, tumbled against each other smooth and polished, each one a treasure. The land itself also held stones but these were ancient and rose from the earth pitted and craggy, worn from wind and rain, yet the land itself was grass and wildflowers. It tumbled and and sloped from the hills behind it, a tiny burn crossed by stepping stone, a gentle and timeless place. You stood and didn’t know when in time you were, it could have been long past or in the future. Nothing stood before your eye to tell you. So yes when I can’t sleep, I return often to this place and imagine it, rebuild its walls and out on a roof, furnish with simple pieces and light the fire. Try it and may you also find peace and sleep well. ❤️

This works, i can't sleep without some kind of white noise. I've been. Sleeping with a box fan at night for over 50 years. The 1st thing i do when i go to bed is turn on the fan. Doesn't matter what season, it could be the dead of winter and 20 below out, I've got to have my fan on.
If the power goes out, there's no sleep. It it goes out in the middle of the night i wake up. The best way to get me out of bed is to turn my fan off. I may get up and turn it back on but I'm up, temporarily.
It's nice it's 3 hrs long as not just a few minutes.
I am the same way, haha! But 28yrs old so far. Can't for the life of me sleep without my fan, even in winter.
I love this video, the sound of the rain relaxes me and the thunderstorms are not that loud. I can fall asleep in a few minutes. Much thanks to whoever created it. ❤❤❤
