      my first attempt failed T_T
      Resin froze when i placed it over the frozen glue water mixture and when it cured it got milky in some spots :/
      Got any ideas what went wrong?
      Thank you for your time

      Oh! No idea as it never happen to me, or try to do it quick before the UV resin get frozen. I normally put the resin on the side first to form a border and then go to the middle, once this is done, I use the UV light immediately (The UV resin will get hot with the UV light and the liquid will get melted).

    hi there, great vid.
    just wondered on the waterfall bezel, when you take it out the freezer and are applying rezin to it, it looks like you are only apllying the resin to edges of the bezel and not completely over it, but thinking this cant be right as when the glue mixture defrosts it would just go everywhere, so are you actually applying the whole of the surface to it, ? and also what would be the difference in mixing the glue with normal tap water rather than distilled water, what does the water being distilled do over normal tap water? how long also does it need freezing for, a concern though is when you put the resin on and then use a lighter to rid bubbles does this not melt the frozen bit?
    thank you, hopefully you undertsand what im trying to explain and i get a response as ive asked other questions before on you tube channels but never seem to get any response.
    have a good day 😁

      Dganit Eger For the work in this video, you will need UV resin as it can be cured very hard and easy to apply for large area. UV nail gel is good for coloring small area according to my experience.

    Will this also work with the other type of resin as well?

    • @MiniatureSweetHK
      @MiniatureSweetHK  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      For the dry one, you can use other resin. Ffor the waterfall one, you must use UV resin as this is the only resin that can be cured within few minutes before the liquid get melted.

  • @Zaddymak
    @Zaddymak 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    would the first technique work with 24 hour resin as well?

    • @MiniatureSweetHK
      @MiniatureSweetHK  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, you must use UV resin. You are not able to make the top cover with 24 hour resin, the ice will actually melt very fast and the 24 hour resin will sink and mix with the liquid. You can only use UV resin which can be cured within few minutes.

  • @TsukiyoTenshi

    Both pieces look absolutely beautiful!
    I was wondering about something, though: The work surface you used in making the Waterfall Bezel, what was it? Is that kind of surface usually used in making UV resin pieces or can it usually be any surface? I've been thinking of experimenting with resin, but I'm not so sure about the surface and I wouldn't want to do anything unconsciously that could potentially mess up the process...
    Oh and before I forget, what was the ratio of glue to distilled water you used? Was it randomized, a set amount, or did you watch for a certain consistency of the combination?

    • @MiniatureSweetHK
      @MiniatureSweetHK  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      The one I used in the video is silicone mat, but this tape below works better:
      www.miniaturesweethk.com/products/40mm-clear-tape-for-open-back-bezel-no-residue-left-backing-for-uv-resin-filling-kawaii-craft-supplies
      For the ratio of distilled water and glue, you need to test it yourself as the consistency of different glue could be different.

  • @AsheKoh
    @AsheKoh 7 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    Hey, whats the ratio of clear glue + water you used? :O

    • @MiniatureSweetHK
      @MiniatureSweetHK  7 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      I didn't use any ratio as the consistency of different brand of glue may be different, so I add the clear glue bit by bit and then check how the glitters and the mini embellishments flow :)

    • @MiniatureSweetHK
      @MiniatureSweetHK  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, you need fast curing resin (curing time around 1-3 minutes) to do the job, that is why I need to use UV resin for this project, everything have expire date and I believe it applies to dimensional magic mod podge as well.

  • @TsukiyoTenshi
    @TsukiyoTenshi 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Okay, I know my questions are most likely getting annoying, but is there a type of UV resin you would recommend? I've read the materials you used and found the clear resin type, but is there a specific brand or something you would readily and highly recommend to first-timers/experimenters?

    • @MiniatureSweetHK

    Hello! Sorry if i speak wrong, i'm french! I've some questions :
    - is the glue going to dry and glue all the charms inside?
    -is it possible To do it with normal resin and not uv resin? ( i know it's going to be longer than hours haha)
    -why do you use distilled water? Can we use normal water?if not, why?

    • @largeandmildlythreateningr2966
      @largeandmildlythreateningr2966 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      White Wolf I'm not the video lady but I know the answers to some of these, the glue might dry but because it's sealed it probably won't since the water in the glue evaporating is how it dries. normal resin might work as long as the ice doesn't melt before it cures. and last, normal water can lose it's clarity over time because it has minerals in it.
