    This is an awesome car! I’ve owned one for over 15 years and mines got a whole bunch done to it now. This is the small body 626,from the 323 626 929 line up,this style 626 disappeared when the mx6 was built. So cool to see it so mint and original! Lol,the 323 GTX in the same year is also amazing,at one point I wanted to swap the awd from the 323 into my 626 but she’s still FWD. love it! Nice car for sure!

    Beautiful car. When I was studying at the university in 1997, one of my fellow students had 1986 Mazda 626 Coupe 2.2, he bought it in Germany and drove it to Belarus. I remember how comfortable it was to sit in it, and all these seat settings. I am 190 cm tall, but even in the back it was quite comfortable to sit. One day this guy took his car to the car wash in winter and then left it on the street for the few hours in the cold , and in the evening after lectures it turned out that the lock on the door was frozen. The employees apparently did not use the blow dryer to dry the lock and there was water left there. And there was no lock on the second door, just a plug, and for half an hour we didn’t know how to open the car. Finally we found a telephone booth, and he called home and in a frightened voice said: “Dad, I can’t open the car, the lock is frozen...”, and his father said briefly: “Take a lighter or matches, heat the key on the fire for a few seconds , and immediately put it in the lock." :D We saw some guy smoking in a parked car and borrowed matches from him, and did as we were advised, and the lock immediately opened. In the early 2000s, my mom had a 5-door 1998 Mazda 626 , I really loved this car.

      think the 2.2, was prob. a never version with cat ...a 89 or something

      @@Bonzoguy66 Yes, I read that 2.2 were on later versions, but I remember when he was selling his car, he asked me to print out ads with information about the car so that he could stick it on the glass, and he said that the engine was 2.2. Perhaps the engine was replaced from another car, I don’t know.

    Hi I'm from Latvia and this car was my little dream:) my dad had one in 1990-s before I was born:D He tells me that it was cool car and about 3 years ago (in 2020) I bought one but it was regular 2.0 coupe because in Europe the GT turbo isnt sold. I need to sold my 626 fiew months after I bought it because I need to get back money to my friend. After that I was looking for buy another one, in good condition and with coolest features...this car isn't expensive but it wasn't easy to find it. Since then I'm looking for 626 like that and maybe in one day my dream come true:) thank you for this video, really cool atmosphere.
    P.s and sorry for my english, it isn't so good :D

    Thank you for posting this. We are at the beginning of restoring our '87 Mazda 626 GT Turbo. Hubby & I are in our 60's and on a fixed income so this will be God willing a slow & long project. We are the first & only owners and have kept her for sentimental reasons. She has been retired for 20 years and does not run and is also not in amazing condition plus has more mileage than the one you have just sold. Hey ho! Wish us luck and I'll check out your salvage parts. P.S. You are spot on with her handling and performance. Fingers crossed we can get her back to her star quality.

    I had an '86 GT 2 Door and an '87 GT 5 Door. Best 2 cars I ever owned. Mine had digital dashes. 2 issues with these cars are. 1) the heater valve is located inside the car and when they leak it's a dash out heater core replacement as it is part of the heater core. 2) The bodies on these cars show very little rust but there is a hidden bad spot. The rear strut towers, both sides. Water gets behind the seam sealer and rots the tower in half. Only way to see it is take the wheels off or better yet remove the fabric covered panels in the trunk. You will see a lot of rust.

    • @ArvineHarry
      @ArvineHarry 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, the rust, my dad's 626 suffered drastically from the rust at the rear shock towers, didn't realise how bad it rusted until had a rear end collision, and as my dad had a cng fuel kit in the car, the tanks had to be removed to properly analyse the damage, and as a teenager, i remember the sight of the inclined shock towers approaching each other and the rear wheels riding on the inside side walls, luckily in Trinidad there was a good welder that had the insight on how to straighten back the strut towers and rebuilding the rusted out painels, even getting it properly water sealed afterwards....another aspect is the fuel filler pipes, they accumulated lots of road debris and rusted out quickly...the powersteering pump and high pressure flexible hose failed frequently, but an easy subsutitute was a pump from a nissan sunny engine, same dimensions and shaft engagement for the original pulley, and also re did the high pressure fluid fixed line to accept the high pressure flexible hose that came with the nissan sunny powersteering pump, i also recall the power window switches breaking easily, the plastic that is, and the actual door glass /window regulator mechanism failing / grinding out the gear teeth easily- frequently, other than these, had no problems mechanically for over 25 years / 1,257,456 Kms , cylinder head had valve seats replaced once, and due to dodgy machine work, head was replaced soon afterwards, 3 speed automatic transmission was rebuilt on 3 occasions but from mileage drove, each time gave about 400,000 Kms...much better than any new car today.

    This was my very first car. not a gt tho. It was an automatic. I paid 645.00 in 1992. It had 110k on the clock. I drove it til about 180k(throttle kept sticking) it also blew the prettiest blue white smoke in the winter. 😅. I then traded it for an 87 accord lxi.😢 I digress. The outside was faded but decent. However, the inside was a pristine blue. I loved that car. I drove it everywhere.... college days.

    Loved our 86 touring sedan. The goofy digital dash was always “off”, but handsome car to look at. Good handling. A 5 speed manual. But a dog, pretty slow. Turbo offered following year and fuel injection alone might have helped. A low cost one of these would be neat.

    OUr family had 1985 Mazda 626 Touring Sedan. I loved the car but the problem was in my city we used to have annual emissions test and it would fail every year. I had to spend $1K every year just to get a conditional pass. For whatever reason, it had phantom issues that would cause car to stall out so had to get ride of it after 14 years. Good memories though.

    Looks really nice. Best of luck with sale and to new owner. You dont see that burgundy color that often. I had a 1983 Honda Accord similar color. I was a irresponsible 20 something year old many years ago. I went through a steady yellow traffic light. (As a adult I try to prepare to stop at yellow traffic light) Anyway I got hit in front left qtr. panel almost straight hit on axel. Car had to be towed to body shop that was maybe 500 ft away from accident. Accident report was written that both drivers claim they had right of way. I wound up going to a small claims court to try to recoup damages. Took several weeks if not months. Meanwhile car was in body shop repair parking lot piling up a tab :(.
    I did eventually collect at small claim court hearing. I actually ran into the other driver a few years later. All ok. Small world.
    Inexperienced me. Parking bill did tally up to body shop. I was pretty broke back then.
    Hopefully lesson learned by me. My Dad did often tell me that accidents are avoidable. I try to work on improving my driving habits.
    Bob you da Man! Becky good stuff!
