Aw, thanks! I have a slightly different idea for this year's pictures because I try to change things up a bit, so I'm already working hard to make sure *next year's* video is a good one, too ;-)
Fallon in the mermaid costume is my favorite! I think this is the first time I’ve seen the whole costume! Love it!! I think Cecile makes a beautiful Tiana! I really enjoy dressing my dolls for Halloween. I’m very behind this year and need to get going. I always enjoy seeing your dolls dressed up!
Just watched the video. So cute! It so reminds me of trick or treating when I was a child. It's MUCH different in the urban jungle of NYC. I actually feel bad for our city kids missing out on this experience. The format is great because it's very organic -- it's exactly what my parents would do -- costumes on, pictures in our entryway (all of us had the look of "just take the dang picture!") and then we were off into the wilds of the darkness of the 1970s California suburb wilds, heavily supervised by one parent, while the other stayed behind to dole out candy. Brava!
I hadn't thought about it that way, but you're right - I did go about it the same way we did as kids - posed pictures before going out, candids in the process, and then the loot :) I love how many of us had that shared experience.
Yep! 100% my experience in 1990s suburban Michigan too. We're always running a bit behind and so are scrambling to get the kids to hold still for a minute so we can take a couple of posed photos as the neighbor kids are ringing our doorbell.
Fallon in girl of today as a mermaid, That’s a big wow!!!! I just heart Halloween so much, and to dress up your dolls that even more fun. Thank you thank you!!!! It puts a huge smile on my face.
Oh, I'm so glad! Cosplay/dressing up/costumes is something I have always loved now I get to enjoy dressing myself, my daughter, AND the dolls in fun costumes :)
I love your Anna, Elsa and Tiana. I completely agree that you created wonderful Disney princesses with no need to buy them from AG. I don't own any doll costumes, so I don't dress them up. However, I dressed up as a "baby" in PJs so many times in elementary school (and I'd bring a baby bottle filled with pop), that when I put my dolls in PJs twice per year, you could almost say they're in costumes. :) I love that you inspired your friend to almost buy Claudie due to that outfit you had her in. :) Love all of the pics outside and opening the loot when they got home. So fun! I agree that sorting all of the candy when you got home was definitely the most fun and memorable. :)
Our little one just said yesterday, "I'm going to give out the BEST candy ffg or Halloween. And I'm going to GET the best candy, too." She was hilariously emphatic.
I know I am late to the video but wanted to comment anyway. Your action shots just warmed my heart. Seeing all the little ones out on the sidewalk looking at the displays and then with their candy all spilled out. It's been a long time since my kids were young but your pictures took me right back there. Good memories. Thank you.
You're not late - it's not even Halloween yet :) I'm so glad the pictures brought up some good memories. How wonderful that a doll photo shoot can do that!
So cute. I really loved the mermaid costume. That is so fun that you take the dolls out "trick or treating''. I loved all the pictures. I like the idea of taking the pictures the year before.
This is adorable! I love Halloween and your Halloween videos make me so happy. I have many good memories of trick-or-treating as a kid and I love sharing it with my kiddos now. The part at the end with the loot- 100% my experience. All of your dolls look great in their costumes and I agree with you that the DIY princesses look as good as the AG x Disney versions. So far my wallet has been safe from the princesses, but Moana is going to break that streak. She is too beautiful to pass up!
100% - I have been waiting for Moana and hoping add her now that the sequel is coming out. She is just beautiful and she will be the first AG/Disney collab doll I buy (we have a couple of them but they've been my wife's purchases)
No shade to AG but I like my versions of Anna and Elsa better than the ones that came out. The LE outfits are nicer, obviously, but I think these two dolls are just lovely!
I love your dolls' costumes! My favorites are Fallon's mermaid costume (it brings back childhood memories for me of looking through the Pleasant Company catalogue) and Claudie's star dress. I need to get to dressing my dolls in their costumes, but at the moment I'm just enjoying them in their Halloween-inspired clothes (outfits with jack-o-lanterns, black cats, witches, candy corn, etc on them).
We just started dressing our dolls in Halloween costumes yesterday so you're not exactly behind. That's why I use pictures from the prior year - I don't want to feel rushed. But once I get started dressing them, I usually have trouble finding the brakes lol.
Thanks - yesterday I got an idea to do a picture with an AG doll head on a poseable OG body and put it in that outfit, hanging upside down from a branch, like a real bat. At least in my head, it's a cute idea. We'll see how it turns out in reality.
Thank you! 🤗 No shade at all to AG's choices, but I kind of like all three (Tiana, Els, and Anna) that I dressed up better than the official AG princess dolls. "Creating" those three last year definitely helped me feel less need to buy the ones AG put out this year (but I will ABSOLUTELY be getting their version of Moana!!)
I'm glad you enjoyed it - Halloween is such a fun time in general and definitely where the dolls are concerned. I love seeing everyone's creative costumes.
I LOVE Halloween! I only have one costume for my dolls so far so this video is SO much fun for me. I’ll probably rewatch it a few times. You’re right, that unicorn costume WAS made for Lilibet!!! There’s something about 116 that’s been drawing me in recently. It’s weird because that hair is just not my thing. But, after seeing this, it’s official…I want that doll! Your videos inspire me to buy dolls way more than AG stock photos do. lol!
LOL re: 116. Also, if you're short on costumes, you should go back and watch my first Halloween costume video ever (from Oct '22) because one of the dolls is in a mummy costume I made exclusively out of toilet paper and I love it :)
Great video! Wow, I can’t believe how nice everybody looked especially out in the neighborhood! I’ve been thinking about what I wanted to do for my Halloween video this year, and I thought about a Halloween party, but I did that last year, I thought about trick-or-treating but now you did it although I guess I could still do that, I thought about a Halloween parade, which I’ve done in the past so my options are somewhat limited and I’m leaning towards the trick-or-treating idea. Mainly because I love taking my dolls out in public just like you and I don’t care if anybody thinks I’m crazy lol. I just bought the bat costume not too long ago and I really like it!
Do you like neutrals for them? Silly Monkey Doll Stuff on Etsy is a very reasonably priced shop that has plenty of Wellie Wisher sized clothes that you can use to mix and match.
So cute! I just finished a Louise Belcher (from "Bob's Burgers") costume. I crocheted a pink bunny hat, sewed a green a-line dress and made a Kuchi Kopi necklace from polymer clay (my first clay project). It was a lot of fun and my 124 Cammie looks pretty cute.
Everyone looks so cute! Ive been wanting that bat costume for a while i really need to get it some day. So far i only have one of the older witch costumes as far as doll costumes go but I'd love to collect more!
I've added more official costumes, but I never hesitate to dress them in other AG outfits that can double as costumes (like Luciana's space suit, the pilot outfit, Maryellen's sock hop outfit, etc). And I once made a mummy costume for Nanea entirely out of toilet paper :)
This was so cute. So many great costumes. I think one of my favorite doll costumes is the bat. P.S. I was never allowed to trick or treat so the first time I went was taking my own kids as an adult.
Huh - I never realized you didn't go trick or treating as a kid. I mean, it doesn't totally surprise me, but I have so many great memories of trick or treating it's hard to imagine missing out on that part of my childhood.
@@agtakesover yeah, it had to do with satan or some religious reasoning. Same reason we were cheated out of a complete Christmas experience. It also doesn’t help that we lived out in the country.
They look great! The Grecian princess costume is so pretty, I’d like to get it someday. I also got the mermaid costume by surprise in a lot and hadn’t used it until I dressed my dolls for Halloween this past week, and had already decided to put it on my 127 (Josefina mold with dark skin and the Evette style wig) before I pulled it out and realized the “flesh colored” part of the costume is designed for light skinned dolls. So I wrapped the green netting around the top and covered most of her arms with her hair. Problem solved 😂
It's sad that the mermaid outfit was made with some dolls and children in mind, but not others. I'd like to think they wouldn't make the same design choice now. But how nice that you were able to make it work for your 127!

Halloween costumes for dolls wow
🤩

I just started dressing mine for this year...this morning. That's why I approach my Halloween videos the way I do - I don't want to feel rushed ;-)
all your dolls look adorable! I especially love the Greek Goddess costume. I love seeing them one by one and then in action shots :) Great video!
Thank you so much! I have a fun idea for this year's pictures, so there will definitely be another good video next year :)

Thank you!! 😊
Love❤❤ this❤❤❤
Thanks - Halloween is one of my top two holidays and I absolutely love playing dress-up so this is 100% up my alley.
This video is so nostalgic!!! We had the mermaid costume when we were kids, so nice to see it again! ❤
I definitely like a mix of the newer stuff, the GOT costumes, and everything in between :) Glad you enjoyed it!
Your princesses all look great.

There were to many to name a favorite! Although I have to say that Tiana was a true treat for me as well as Anna
I'm glad you enjoyed it - Halloween is such a fun time in general and definitely where the dolls are concerned. I love seeing everyone's creative costumes.
My favorite is the Unicorn 🦄!!!!!!
It was basically made for that doll (and the other pink and purple haired dolls they've made that are often hard to dress)
I LOVE Halloween! I only have one costume for my dolls so far so this video is SO much fun for me. I’ll probably rewatch it a few times. You’re right, that unicorn costume WAS made for Lilibet!!! Oh, you should totally do trick or treating pictures. I'd love to see them!
My favorite is the lavender unicorn.
That doll can definitely be tricky to dress with her pink and lavender hair, but that unicorn costume was just MADE for her.
Loved the costumes. I just got my first Wellie wisher as an adult senior. I would like to see dressing ideas for Wellie wishers 😊
Do you like neutrals for them? Silly Monkey Doll Stuff on Etsy is a very reasonably priced shop that has plenty of Wellie Wisher sized clothes that you can use to mix and match.
You are so smart to take the photos and use them the next year.
Your photos look so good! I struggle with getting group shots like this.
Purely coincidentally, I just started dressing the dolls for Halloween and taking their pictures today. Next year's will be a good video, too :)

That mermaid costume is the most "authentic" looking
If you can talk about Mermaids as authentic . I think we can. 😜
Of course we can - And I agree. I have at least 4 mermaid costumes for dolls and it is the most realistic.
💚🖤💜
:)
