    Thanks for the video Tony, appreciate it. Here’s my biggest problem - should I be bullish or bearish? It’s like a coin flip, even when I try to use technicals to predict.

      The reality is that that is what makes a market, various parties with different views. We gauge direction is based on 2 main criterias, trend, and relative strength. I have a video on this topic that you want to watch here: th-cam.com/video/_colWBr5L4g/w-d-xo.html

    hi i wanted to know yo always show examples of bullish trades by selling put spreads but, what about when you are bearish and selling call spreads?

  • @bensuly1881
    @bensuly1881 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Call options doesn't have to be hold until expiration to make profit, therefore I find it more useful compared to selling or spreads because you can realize a bigger profits with less capital in shorter time period.

    Breakeven point only matters if you hold to expiration. You can still profit of the movement of the Greeks.

    The only thing that I find somewhat inaccurate regarding the 'buying calls' explanation is that you're not really losing even if the stock is below your BE.
    Since it moved 1-2 points, delta played a factor and increased your contract's value, therefore, you're profitable on the trade. Say you bought when the stock was at 100, bought at $4 per contract, delta is 0.4, it moved to 102, you roughly made $80 on the trade. The P\L graph I think is only relevant if you're looking at assignment. In that case, of course, you bought 100 shares at 100 + $4 premium and if it's at 102 you're down $200.

      :100x100=10,000; 100x102=10,200; p/l= 200-4=196; is my calculator broken?

    • @LifeSugar
      @LifeSugar 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@johnpalma7265 I think you're wrong.. It's not minus 4 it's plus 4 (you paid to get that contract $400). If you take assignment on the trade you're paying $10,000 + $400 = payed $10,400. If stock is at 102 you're going to sell it and get $10,200, hence, down $200. Makes sense?

    • @OptionsPlay
      @OptionsPlay  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You are correct, there are simply an infinite # of scenarios to which an option can take to expiration, and we simply cannot cover them all. This was meant to explain the concept of time-decay that the movement of the stock must overcome time decay.
