During my recent trip to China, we found ourselves struggling as the use of WeChat Pay posed significant hurdles for overseas Chinese and foreigners alike.
Navigating daily transactions became a formidable task as many establishments exclusively accepted payments through this digital platform. While WeChat Pay undoubtedly offers convenience for locals, for me, as a visitor, it meant grappling with the limitations of my foreign bank cards and the complex process of setting up WeChat Pay without a domestic Chinese bank account.
