Shane Acker created a Masterpiece!!! After I saw the movie years ago, I couldn't wait for the DVD to come out. So when it did, it was not that well promotet over here in germany, neither for the theater's, nor for the dvd's...which made me realy surprise, cuz oft it's outrages art-work n story-telling...but never the less, I had luck to find at least 9 copies of it in different stores n got them for friends n family as a none-birthday-gifts. They all loved it, even my young teenage nephues.
Even though being a not that well known movie, it's a great film, I'll take a few hours just drawing art of the characters and villains. My favorite one to draw is Seamstess, but I think the hardest is the Winged Beast due to it having little fanart, concept art, or good shots in the movie to really look at as a reference. The creepiest design was definitely Seamstress, but I did enjoy seeing how the Cat Beast moved in both the 2005 and 2009 films. B.R.A.I.N himself was a masterpiece, his animation style was quick and flexible even though being suspended on a metal bar connected to the ceiling of the factory, the way it moves, expresses emotion, and its backstory, even with no dialogue, it shows what really happened with The Scientist and the Chancellor quite well. Overall both movies are a masterpiece and I think it deserves more respect and attention compared to what it has now.
I’m surprised he hasn’t really made anything else since then. He just seems to have projects either canceled or lost in some sort of creative purgatory

i love the concept. i must admit 1st time i saw the short and the feature i was sliiiiightly dissapointed because it didn't conformed to the regular way american feature animations are done. It's not a Disney and it's not a DC/Marvel either.
It had a good story, but yeah. If it was longer then the characters would have more development till either their demise or the end of the movie. If it was longer they could have put more monsters in and have more development of the plot to go with it. And then maybe it would have gotten more attention. Still a beautiful movie, though.

Bruh, the short film 9 could have won the Oscar. It's my favorite short film. It's just monstrosity that 9 didn't win. 😡

Eh, I like the short. The full-length movie really needed more plot and character development.
