Can I ask why? It is my understanding that it will not protect from high altitude intercontinental nuclear missiles. It is only usefill for short range rockets and other short range stuff.

An old veteran like me is internal support of renaming our bases back to their original titles I've served at Fort Jackson, Fort Benning, and Fort Hood for extensive periods of time and the new names that were changed due to woke politics have no resonance in my nostalgia.

I spent 6 years of my life at Fort Bragg and 4 years at Fort Benning. That said, I do like Fort Benning being named after General Hal Moore and his wife. General Moore was a soldier's soldier and led by example.
