Truly one of my favorite pods, love seeing anytime you guys upload - loving the Fix Your Franchise series! If I could make a suggestion, I think it'd be dope to also have a similar but different offseason series where it's something like "Getting Over the Hump" - teams that are competitive and in the hunt but maybe 2 or 3 moves away from being Championship Contenders. Could be a cool way to dive into the deeper layers of free agency and the draft and shift focus to some teams that may be harder to give time to on the channel. Either way I'll be tuned in! Thanks fellas
Poona Ford is slowly becoming the mascot of the pod. One of my favorite career arcs out there. Big 12 defensive lineman of the year, but undrafted because he's seen as too short to play. Manages to play his way into a starting role with the Seahawks and an extension. 7 years is a long career for a UDFA, and it isn't over yet.
Bears fan here... I thought I wouldn't be asking for a Fix your franchise this year... I was wrong. To the draft I go. Please fix this dreaded team once again
Im afraid its bleak, this stink goes all the way to the owner and the nepo children who dont want to spend money. Thats why they didnt fire the coaches last year.
Another great video! Would love to see episodes on some stuck-in-the-middle teams like the seahawks, rams, dolphins, who feel like they are destined to fight for 8-9 the next season or two.
Great job fellas. The only benefit of having a tragic season like the Cowboys currently are is it makes for a way more fun DRAFT SZN. Looking forward to 2025!
lol same but it seems like they are stuck in misery till Watsons contract is up. Really limits them on what they can do. Like how do you pay a guy that much then turn around and what draft a rookie QB and have a what 50-60 million a year backup? Pre June 1 200m dollar dead cap hit, Post June 1 120m dollar dead cap hit with 80m dead cap hit in 2025 then again in 2025 172m & 118m and in 2026 99m and 72m like idk how you eat that. Unless you embrace the tank early and shoot for Arch down the road and take your loss with Watson. Idk tough situation, Browns will Brown
I talked about him a little bit on one of the earlier stock up/stock down episodes! He’s a really fun college back and runs about as hard as anyone. He’ll get a shot in the league simply because of his determined style, but I worry about the athletic ceiling. I like taking fliers on pissed off runners tho
Can't help but feel like Robert Spillane would be a great option for the Cowboys. Also, please, please fix the Rams. They are, I think, very much coming to the end of this cycle and need to eat their vegetables, a lot like the Saints. Would be interested to hear what you guys would do with veterans across the roster like Stafford, Kupp, Havenstein etc
Did you hear Eberflus get burnt by Kaplan today on the coaches show? Your Phone works as well as your offense 😅 Bro!!!! How the Bears aren't next I have no clue.
Yea I've never heard that one before. I'm not even sure what pounding sand looks like. Just sitting on the beach punching the absolute 🐶 💩 out of the sand?
Another great episode guys. As a Cowboys fan I’m surprised Rico Dowdle didn’t get more love. I remember Connor being a fan of him as a sleeper out of South Carolina. I’d be more than comfortable spending that 3-5M on him as the veteran and then bringing in some young guys from the draft
Dowdle has improved as the season went on. He has a top 10 success rate. They need to play him more and pair him up with a mid round pick RB next season
I don’t like the Cowboys at all, Steeler fan, but Rico impressed me when the Steelers played them. Also a Hawkeye fan but Rico and Kaleb Johnson would be a great duo
I think you hit the nail on the head with Jones wanting to stay relevant and a talking point in the media. Makes all the more sense to go after Belichick with him going for the all time win record. That alone gets eyes on the franchise and product and keeps you relevant.
Update: Micah did in fact respond on the statements made about McCarthy and Connor I believe was the one who was on the nose with parsons clearing the air on his podcast.
Malaki Starks in round 1 or Xavier Watts in round 2 are legit options for them I think. I personally like how we went trenches with those picks, but could see those two as potential cowboys
Disagree on saying goodbye to Rico. His success rate is really good but the coaches insist on RBBC because Jerry wants Zeke on the field so Rico isn’t being used enough. Pair Rico with a Day 2 pick and prosper.
This was an excellent video fellas! I love your stuff and have either of you watched tape of Avery Morrow from CSU. His stats don’t pop off the page but he seems to lead the offense in every single game. I would love to hear your thoughts on him if you get the chance. Keep up the good work!
I think doing the Commies or Cardinals would be fun. Compare last year to this year. Both teams playing well going into the back half. Complete turnarounds pretty impressive with fun QBs
Great show boys. Just love what you do. Now, as a NFL full mock draft is hard to do as each week teams move up and down, how about one for us NFL Fantasy Sex Addicts. Rank the college QB's, RB's, WR's and TE's as football and possible fantasy players. The Draft nuts also usually are Fantasy junkies. :)
I’m from Pittsburgh not far from where McCarthy grew up in the Greenfield neighborhood. I do analytics for a D3 NCAA lacrosse team and can assure you; he does NOT know analytics 😂 great dialogue boys
We really need the updated draft rankings on the MDS some time soon because especially for exercises like this, as it stands the fact that teams will still auto-pick Jalen Milroe in the top 5 and especially when it comes to the ED players there's just no way to reconcile how some of them are currently ranked with how they are performing or even just what their PFF grade for the current season looks like and how it compares within the class, even accounting for strength of schedule, there have been some major rises and falls that I always need to manually consider when drafting (also why is that one small school corner who only played 3 games still in the top 30?)
Really think the Parsons quote is just a classic player not understanding how much time a coach puts in outside of the specific things the players are seeing. Feel like it was more Parsons thinking players in general put in more time than coache
Love the draft, I'm a huge fan of each of those players! One thing I was curious about, not necessarily for a specific team, but what would you think about pairing up TreVeyon Henderson and Kyle Monangai in a backfield together? I feel like that would be an awesome combination of players.
Sleeper HC for Dallas, and it strays from what theyve done in the past. Oregon goes undefeated and wins the National Championship, Jerry is on the field and hands Lanning a blank check to be the next head coach for the Dallas Cowboys.
The logic of the draft simulator to make the Patriots draft 2 safeties in the first two rounds when it isn't a top need nor a good value. To grab both astounds me xD, but you never know crazy stuff happens in the draft.
Really surprised when you called out Dan Mullen for OC you didn’t mention that he was Dak Prescott’s HC in college. Think that makes him a really intriguing choice for the role
Love the show but I don't think RB devaluation is fully or even mostly to do with offenses switching to becoming more pass heavy It has way more to do with: - Teams and everyone realized that run blocking is way more important than the actual RBs for the run game Not for drafting but for not paying, most RBs fall off a cliff in their mid to late 20s so that scared teams from signing RBs to big contracts (all started with Todd Gurley)
1. Trade Prescott. Is it unreasonable to think that they could get a first from Cleveland for Dak? What are their alternatives? Pick one of these underwhelming QBs in this class? 2. Get Shedeur & Deion. Honestly, I think Deion is the value here. And I think they could reasonably get Shedeur at 11 (really would rather have Jeanty as a prospect, but if it addresses a coaching need as well then I'd do it), if not with a pick-trade for Dak. 3. I tried the PFF sim since it has player trades, but why is Walter Nolen rank 196?? He's consensus 28 on MDB. And getting mocked in the top-10 elsewhere. Honestly thought Allar, Dart, Gabriel, and Cook were a bit low. I mean, if I'm looking for a QB - I'm targeting them as prospects who can grow. And using my premium picks on building a team to support them. Does it really make sense for teams to use a lot of capital on these project QBs at the top?
Guys, I love your free agency plan. It sounds amazing. But I’m here to tell you that the Cowboys will NOT do anything remotely close to this. They don’t believe in spending more than $5 on free agents. They will use players like Osa, Micah, Tyler Smith & Daron Bland who are in the final year of their contract or will be in a year or 2 as an excuse as to why they can’t add any quality players in free agency (only to turn around and play hard ball and get into a long negotiation with said players when it’s time to pay them). They don’t get involved in free agency until like the 3rd week when all the players that would actually improve the roster are gone. They are bargain shoppers. They sign dudes who were busts that they had high on their draft board that they think they can fix because of course they can, they’re the Cowboys 😂 they also sign replacement level players at positions they intend to draft and have them as placeholders in case they can’t address that position in the draft. Their team building process is exclusively “draft and develop.” That’s why year after year 95% of the players on the team are homegrown (drafted or UDFAs). The team being all homegrown talent is 1 reason why nothing changes. There aren’t any players on the Cowboys who’ve been in other locker rooms/successful teams telling them what it takes to win. All Cowboys players know is the Cowboys (Jerry) way. Unserious team.
@ fair enough 👍 these are easily one of the best pieces of NFL/college content out there, just want to make sure the standard remains the standard. Appreciate you brother 🫡
spoiler alert: the next coach is prolly kellen moore, which is a fine hire but regardless the cowboys are still screwed, simply because part of the mandate of the job is jerry buys the groceries. the cowboys are screwed because Sean Payton should be the coach of the dallas cowboys right now, no questions asked. they're screwed because Bill Belichick COULD be the coach of the dallas cowboys right now, and he won't be. and neither of the are or will be because Jerry likes to buy the groceries. it won't surprise me if he somehow randomly doesn't retain Micah Parsons, because he has a hard time dealing with true alphas and leaders having high expectations and demanding greatness out of him on his end. i'm a true believer that it takes bravery and conviction to win a super bowl, and jerry knows darn well this roster isn't good enough, and he has no fire to change it. its not even a talent issue, its full on failure to create winning culture.

We purposefully started fix your franchise earlier this year to hopefully get to more teams like that. We will try!
I was not expecting the "Here we go" at the end of the cold open and it absolutely sent me.
This is a Mike Vrabel team. You get the Belichick discipline with less gravitational pull to a HC/GM position.
Vrabel is good fit for any struggling team tbh. If Eberflus gets fired I could get behind that, heck the Saints having Vrable would be awesome too.
The fix your franchise pods are gold. Happy belated Connor!!! NFLSE is one of the best football/sports pods out there.

becoming an adult is realizing DT is more important than edge.
Whats funny about Carolina picking Jeanty is that they traded above Dallas to get Brooks last year 😂
Love the show but I don't think RB devaluation is fully or even mostly to do with offenses switching to becoming more pass heavy
It has way more to do with:
- Teams and everyone realized that run blocking is way more important than the actual RBs for the run game
Not for drafting but for not paying, most RBs fall off a cliff in their mid to late 20s so that scared teams from signing RBs to big contracts (all started with Todd Gurley)
