- The lawsuit, filed Sept. 26 by Natasha Dunn, Jimmy Darnell Jones and other residents, seeks wider relief in addition to their initial case filed in May which sought to stop the former South Shore High School from being turned into a shelter for migrants. It names the city of Chicago, Mayor Brandon Johnson and Chicago Public Schools as defendants.

The fact is that homelessness has been turned into a commodity for the few who are getting the government contracts for running shelters where not many want to stay, jobs created for some to do a job they never do, section 8 housing programs that allows for a very temporary solution to a housing problem. With the money for section 8 housing , they could be helping someone own a home instead they over pay for a sub standard over priced apartment.

I voted democrat because it's what most of us were used to voting on because we were led to believe that they were the party for the people (middle to lower class). I've observed a tendency for African Americans to seek politicians who share their skin color, and there's also a desire for remakes of movies from 20 years ago with African American actors/actresses. Additionally, there seems to be an assumption that African American criminals are 'innocent' when shot by a police officer.
