I have been watching the Boilers for many decades and I’ve absolutely never turned a game off because the outcome didn’t look promising. I’m disappointed in the loss, as we should be, but I haven’t given up on this team. They are really good.
Once again, Nebraska has provided the early exit blueprint for Purdue's first-weekend tournament opponents. The inevitability of it is excruciating to watch.
It took 60% shooting from 3pt and 7 different players hit 3's for Nebraska. We had 14 TO to only 8 for Nebraska. But don't lose sight that it's taking career high performances and ungodly shooting % to beat us. Zach is also getting absolutely no calls in B1G play.
He gets fouled non stop ESPN released a photo of of “#1 Purdue goes down” where Edey is going fouled simultaneously by 2 players on the Nebraska including 1 hook and hold
Leave Keisei open??? Hoiberg when recruiting had him shoot 3's and he was just knocking them down 1 after another without any warm up. That was just straight showing him around training center and then handing him a ball cold. Something like 12 3's in a row.
Yep! All teams now will try to use the same plan to counter Purdue. Honestly, I hope it happens so Purdue has to be forced to change or come up with something before March. Also, this #1 stuff is messing us up.
Dud game from the start. All that matters is performance in March. Can this team END the NCAA Tournament CURSE? If so - then this team becomes legendary. If not, then same old same old.
pressure is a privilege... being #1 always brings pressure and each opponent will bring more than their best. we should be grateful for and enjoy our position as one of the best teams in the country. in 25 years the Nebraska team will still be celebrating beating #1 back in 2024. we have bigger fish to fry. beating Nebraska doesn't make our season like beating Purdue made theirs. we're not going to storm any court unless it's after winning a championship. so, get back to work and focus on getting better and prepare for a 6 game win streak at the end of the season to earn a national championship. Boiler Up!
I agree that turnovers have different degrees of impact. I think Edey has to get better with the ball in games like this in which he is double-teamed so aggressively. Mast got away with some sloppy fouls. Nevertheless, Purdue let him and others get too many points in the paint. Finally, Hoiberg is doing a great coaching job, too. Nebraska is a good team.
What will Coach and the team learn from this loss? That’s the question I want answers to from the media. What will change or improve? The last decade we’ve seen these good teams not be able to learn from their poor performances and then it shows up again in a big way in March and Coach in the media conference acts surprised that his team didn’t play better. Look in the mirror bub.
I totally agree with you! I don’t want to get down on this program and the coach because Purdue is my school and I am the biggest fan but boy I really would like somebody to ask Painter, what are you going to do to make these changes so that this does not happen again? Don’t just tell us how great that other team is because then you’re making it sound like your team is not that good! I can’t stand that…
Northwestern 11-3, NEBRASKA 13-3 with wins over MSU, KSU, and now Purdue, also brutalized Indiana, but we are a bottom feeder, and not a top tea in the big ten? Go tell it to your sorry team that got hosed last night
Horribly coached game by Painter. One of his worst. Lawyer struggled with confidence last year, and Painter pulls him too soon. Bizarre substitution strategy the whole game. They have success against Edey and you keep Morton in the game?? He gives you nothing
Same ole Purdue when they get horrible guard play ,guards turn the ball over, dont make shots ,cant play defense, get stops its a loss everytime this will happen again and next time it will be late march !
At 11:30, Brian says "These are two teams that you are obviously much better than. These are still, obviously, two bottom..." Oops. What happened to having respect for teams that beat Purdue? Both Northwestern and Nebraska rank higher in the Big Ten conference standings than Purdue does at this point and are nowhere near the bottom of the conference. So, in terms of what positions teams have earned in this conference, these teams are actually better than Purdue at this point. Check the conference standings if you can't figure that out. National rankings are based on the nonconference schedules and speculation (say from last season) rather than what teams have actually proven by their performance in the league this season. On the other hand, lots of owning-it comments on the Purdue turnovers and a light heart about the court storming, so Brian still delivers another good video. Thanks for that!
Where was Braden Smith dribble penetration? There was a lot of passing around the 3pt line but not enough the ball getting into the paint. If they’re gonna double Edey, the ball has to find the open guy. Not our night and they were on fire. Learn and move on
How do you think it effects the teams mentality, when they know CMP will never make a defensive adjustment (coaching) to counter an opponent's offense when they are clicking on all cylinders and shooting lights out?
Purdue will always have a tough time winning if Braden Smith isn't good. TKR saved us last game...no one saved us this time. Jones not a good passer...should not initiate the offense.
There was no urgency to start the game which kind of fed into the whole game beginning to end. Nebraska started off shooting poorly but Purdue didn't capitalize on it by getting off to a big lead. I had a feeling it would catch up with them in the end.
The pass into the stands on the opening possession was really bizarre. With that said, Nebraska played excellent defense. Credit to the Huskers.
That's when I knew there was a chance
I turned the game off at the end of the first half..knew exactly where we were headed.
You lasted longer than I did. I shut it off at the first media timeout in the first half.
Me too! Could not stomach it! Also, Smith keeps driving baseline and jumps like a rooster to find players to pass to

Makes me wonder if adding 1 or 2 true road games in the non conference schedule would be helpful prep for conference and tournament parts.
Knew it was over when smith chucked it into the stands on the jump ball
I think Nebraska is a little better than you think. They have the pieces to be a top 3-4 big ten team this year

Oh stfu, Edey's game consists of him throwing elbows into his defenders he's a bum
@@chuck1026Yes but to be honest, we don't know weather or not a foul was called right there.
Without the giant, the team is mediocre
@@Shan_Cox there was never a hook and hold called against Nebraska so there was no call

"I've never seen him take an open 3" - TRUTH

Sometimes teams just go on a heater
Sometimes you make adjustment in your defensive scheme. God forbid Coach entertain that.
@@IndyGST4 True, but there were a lot of threes they hit that were contested. I would look at the TOs that led to 18 points
Big Ten teams are figuring out Purdue's pick and roll. Time to adjust the offensive movement to give other teams time to adjust to us.

This is the best Husker team in years...An upset but we can beat most teams on any given night
How is Northwestern and Nebraska both not top B1G teams? Both are projected into the field of 68..

Inconsistent comes to mind. A lot of good players but it’s almost a guessing game who’s going to show up.
More like Purdon't amirite?
