It used to have good pick up then it started being sluggish or it has been behaving like that for long? You should take it for check up because there may be several reasons for that from faulty spark plugs, faulty mass air flow sensor, faulty fuel system and much more, that's why I recommend taking it for a proper inspection to diagnose the exact problem
That is definitely a problem with the cvt gearbox, I've come across several of these passos with cvt issues, some are reliable, some are not, i would advise that you take it for diagnosis but take note that repairing these cvts is difficult and may not necessarily solve the problem, in most cases replacement is normally the only option. They are not like the conventional automatics that can be repaired and keep working for a long time
Either car is good enough, but passo is more spacious, comfortable and also more refined. Even in terms of stability passo is better. Daihatsu is slightly more fuel efficient, it can get between 20 to around 26km/l while passo 1000 can get around 23km/l or there about depending on driving style. So generally passo is slightly better, daihatsu only marginally wins in terms of fuel consumption.

That doesn't come from the factory, it's just an aftermarket addition to enable the car use lpg which is cheaper than petrol

This car only has serious problems with the steering rack. The only thing I wouldn't recommend to anyone
Absolutely. Owning one now 1 month and I notice Power steering at some point hesitates. Not sure what the way forward is. Maybe can hint
