Renato Cioni & Magda Olivero sing "Love Duet" from Madama Butterfly by Giacomo Puccini Orchestra del Teatro San Carlo Nicola Rescigno, Conductor Napoli 1961
I think Renata had some problems with the first few notes not being perfectly in tune, but then…… perfect, this is a very impressive duet by both artists. It is one of my favorites songs by Puccini. I have seen the opera live twice, once with Rolf Björling ( Jussi Björling’s son) as Mr Pinkerton, but unfortunately he was not as god as his father, not even close. Jussi made a studio recording of Mdm Butterfly together with Victoria de Los Angeles just a year before he died from a heart attack. That remains as my favorite recording of this opera .
MARAVILLOSO DUO
OVERWHELMINGLY GREAT PERFORMANCE OF OVERWHELMINGLY GREAT MUSIC!!!

Danke lieber Addi für`s posten
Inmejorable.
