- What do you do if your child is choking? It’s something no parent wants to think about but they need to be prepared to react. Bethany Page, a nurse educator at Children’s Hospital of Michigan demonstrated to our Kimberly Gill what to do if a child or a baby is choking.

I pray that no one ever need to do this to their child. May God protect.
I love how @youtube will force you to watch an ad as your child chokes and you need to watch a video on how to keep them alive.

Oh man that's horrible. My child was just choking and i felt helpless. We got it out, but afterwards i realized i need to better educate myself so here i am.. Hope all is well God bless.

Stop blaming others and do your due diligence before an event like this can occur.
Don't blame TH-cam, it's the channel that chose to have ads in this video. The channel has the option to turn it off.
Commercial Ad on this has probably killed a few children … imagine waiting 15 seconds while your child suffocates ?!!!
If they are coughing they are NOT suffocating. If they are NOT coughing THEN there is a problem.
Just pay for premium…. Ad free… solved.
and that is exactly why you should be watching these videos every once in a while to brush up on the knowledge. cpr and choking methods should be learned by all parents.
im here watching this video to be prepared incase it happens. why would you wait for it to happen to learn how??? its called PREpare

Well at least he's still alive. A child just died recently from choking at school. And they didn't know how to get the food out. I think his parents would have hope for broken ribs than burying their 6 year old son.

I take that's below the ribs? I have a great fear this'll happen to my little girl and I won't it get right 😭 When she eats things I think are a choking hazard I tell her "chew it chew it chew it..", while nodding my head and making the chewing motion in between. I'm so scared of this happening 😫😰
Same! I watched another video on CPR & she said NOT to do the abdomen thrusts on children. I have a 3 year old (and 12 year old) & I’ve always had a fear of them choking. My husband’s CPR certified but I’m not, think I’m gonna take a class. Hope neither of us ever have to experience this but best to be prepared! Have a good one 😊❤
If this ever happens to your child (I hope it doesn't) remain calm, that's extremely important! Otherwise you won't be able to help her.
I choked on a piece of steak when I was 7, it was so bad I couldn't even cough, I couldn't breath at all, I was going to lose consciousness very soon, and even though I was surrounded by pretty much all the adults of my family everyone panicked, especially my mom. However, my wonderful grandma remained calm and did the Heimlich maneuver on me; the piece of steak was huge (yeah, silly me took a big chunk of meat) and it was firmly lodged in my throat so it took my grandma almost a minute of doing the maneuver before I was able to expel it.
She saved my life that night and it was only because she stayed calm and focused, the maneuver itself is not difficult, do it with all your strength; it hurts, but I prefer to have some bruises on my torso rather than choking to death.

Yesterday my family Went to a place and me and my sister started eating pizza and then when I has pizza in my mouth my sister made me. Laugh so I started chocking on a pizza bit. And I said in a high pitch I'm. Chocking and then my sister saved me

Ok, so there's teaching something and being helpful, but she should have corrected her posture to where she placed her fist. Sounded like she was giving cpr while doing the Heimlich maneuver
