- Jim Parsons and Mayim Bialik, from "The Big Bang Theory," talk about their process for memorizing lines. We all have different learning styles. You just have to found out what works for you.
Record your lines on your phone and listen to them over and over again, when your on transport, going for a jog, in work etc. Has really worked for me in remembering lines.

my only issue with this is that you have to make a really good recording so that you don't get into the habit of being monotone in your lines
The idea is to learn the lines, not to act from the recording.

It's interesting how not being aware of what the lines mean gives Parsons an edge- it automatically lends a robotic tone that I think the creators were looking for.
Right - which is why it works for that role. They go hand in hand because he looks and is playing some one geeky.

In some weird way, if Parsons has no idea what he's talking about, but yet still able to remember these lines it may be possible for him to be a genius, because scientific definitions are easily remembered through understanding. Yet hes remembering them without any prerequisite knowledge ... very talented.
Yeah in a way but if he has no idea what he's saying and they are just words to him then if he was to be asked a question about a specific topic he wouldn't know the answer because he doesn't know what the sentences mean when he says them.

I want to be an actor, I know my memory isn't very good, but I'm up for the challenge, recording yourself and listening over and over again has worked the best for me during acting classes
There’s a really helpful rehearsal app for actors called DialogMaster Pro.
It allows you to record each character’s lines to play on repeat till you’ve memorised them, then you can silence your own character’s lines, so you can say them yourself while all others characters are still heard in the conversation. It’s been so handy to use.
Omg it makes me feel so better to hear how she runs her lines, and honestly struggles with them. I’m going through the same thing in my acting class. Trying to learn the lines, but not learning them with a preset emotion that I bring into the scene, but rather let my emotions carry out as I’m saying the words.
When she says "photographic" memory i instinctively expected Jim Parsons to say "excuse me, that's a misnomer, you mean to say idetic memory"

Great - an actor speaking honestly, clearly, well and intelligently, and getting on with it! I'm not being rude about other actors, just interested that a few actors seem able to make sense easily. Some people have a 'natural' talent developed when they're young. And it reminds the rest of us that we may need to work doubly hard to achieve the same clarity. J.

Mayim Bialik is quite the beautiful one out of character.
I feel like this is more simple and easier to understand then the loki idea.
Do actual actors promote the loci (memory palace) method? I was wondering if loci is what people with a method to sale promote, but working actors don't use.
I’m hella late but I see why he got a million dollars an episode his role is the hardest one on the show he don’t even understand half that crap he says props to him for that that’s real talent

learn to write what are commas does punctuation matter learning to write is a courtesy to the reader so we dont have to decipher gibberish.
I'm a pacer and line driller too. It feels like I have to read and repeat my lines a thousand times before I memorize them lol. Least now I know I'm not the only one.

I cant even repeat a simple dialogue paragraph in a comic book. I thought maybe it was me not born with memorzation skills

I have an eidetic memory, it is so annoying when people say photographic memory.
They are actually distinguished, different types of memory. Eidetic vs Photographic.
Oh I wish I had a photographic memory. Mine's more of a Polaroid memory, you know...? "Hard work and lets see what develops."

I, for one, think the scripts in "The Big Bang Theory" are great, but then again, it's just a personal opinion.
