I hope you enjoy it for years to come. I did do a little research by looking back at some old videos to see what the color scheme of your appliances were that you had in the background, hope it goes well with the other appliances. I feel like everyone should have a kitchen aid mixer, I absolutely love mine. There is a little personal engraving on the Actual Mixer that says "To eat well is to Garden". I love all your videos and you and your family are a huge inspiration in life and in the Garden. This channel is like no other, I always look forward to the many videos you guys put out every week. Again, I am sorry for it not showing up with the original note. Enjoy!!!

I moved to the Pacific Northwest a few years ago from Florida and learning to garden here was like starting over. And I think that is because I was inspired every day, every week for the whole winter - no winter blues for me this time....
Currently in summer and it is hot! its been over 4 weeks of no rain... eek... so far we can water with hoses still here in Hamilton... I always remember your words that is way better to have plants in the ground, even if you are planting in the middle of summer...

That is a very generous gift of a kitchen aid mixer. How sweet! FYI Laura; Kitchen aid MIGHT repair the old one and you can gift it out. Their warranty is usually awesome. It shouldn't have broken making bread dough. That mixer prides itself on working for YEARS. Might not hurt to send them an email.
My mother has hers from graduating from grad school it's 40 years old and been well loved! She had the motor replaced 20 years ago and hasn't had a problem since.

Your mom is lucky enough to have a Hobart-made KitchenAid. They are BUILT! (All metal/"solid state" They're now owned by Whirlpool, you may make your own judgement, but the old adage is true, "They don't make stuff like they used to.") Mine is 44 years old! It does complain if I want to do bread dough, but otherwise still works great. I'd rather knead bread dough by hand tho, so not a problem.
There are some old school fixer-people online, but they are VERY popular, plus I'd hate to be without my mixer for very long. My DH is very handy, so I may just order replacement wiring or whatever, and fix it myself. Himself. LoL.
Be very nice to your Mom, and maybe she'll leave it to you! It will still work, I'm pretty sure, for another 40 years. 😁

So a little tip from an amateur baker wannabe for when you run out of parchment rounds: save the wrappers from any stick butter you use! (Unless it is foil lined) Just keep them in a big ziplock bag in your fridge and when you need to bake a cake just grab one for each pan. Its all good that it doesn’t cover the bottom entirely. Enjoy your mixer!

Dear Laura, I love watching your channel. I appreciate how you share your knowledge and experiences both successful or not. I find your mannerisms soft and inviting not preachy and in your face. I have only started with the espoma line but I found your segment on bio tone and plant tone very informative and helpfulI. I have struggled for years and I mean years like 23 years to have a beautiful garden and even gave up from time to time. But if I struggled now often find a segment that helps me or at least makes me feel better about moving on to something that is successful. Erin does such a great job with your videos, it very professional and still manages to keep the neighborly touch you work so hard at putting is you channel. Thank you for a job well done.
