@@BrianKitching-wv5nh g'day brother and warm greetings from Queensland Australia 😊 I grew up in a fire station in Australia my teenage years during the 80s and 90s so I sort of grew up in an environment similar to the work culture these guys display. My favourite would have to be old Terry, god rest his soul. He reminds me of some of the older firemen I knew who helped influence my life. He was cool, calm and collected . He cared about people and was a genuine decent MAN ( in every sense). He was a fantastic role model for kids as he displayed with the young girl who came there from Coffs Harbour. a beautiful little seaside town down the coast from here. He was always up for a warm hearted chuckle but was more concerned with looking after others. He was also a straight shooter who would tell you how it was with being OTT or deliberately offensive, a quality I sadly see a lot less of lately. I grew up going to the beach in Queensland swimming in the surf from the time I could run but all our lifesavers were volunteers,as are most in most surf lifesaving clubs are around Australia. Big shout out and respect for these fine Aussies who selflessly volunteer their time for FREE to keep our beautiful Aussie beaches safe.
Anyway enough of my reminiscing 😅. Hope you have a great day mate and best wishes from sunny Queensland 😊

Is there are story behind the *red* and *yellow* color (for flags)?
In my country - and probably in many European countries - red stands for 'great danger' and yellow for 'mild danger/trouble ahead'. .. So I´m not wondering when European tourists avoid the red flag by purpose. 🤭 I would do so myself if I hadn´t seen BondiRescue in YT. 😃

Great minds think alike! The signs actually are double-sided. It's the one metal pole with a sign attached to each side. You can see the sign pointed towards the beach at 6:20 and from the ocean perspective at 9:38. My guess is some people are trying to get away from crowds at the flags and only plan to go in a little ways, having no idea how strong the currents are. The lifeguards really are amazing.

16:39 the french canadian is hilarious yet... I have noticed after seasons and seasons watching Bondi Rescue both the life guards and medics have little patience for those with 2nd languages. This french canadian not only has 2 languages yet they are curt and frustrated/cutting him off with his story despite knowing his language barrier and green whistle are affecting him. How many times are the camera crew pointing out the multilingual talents of the cast???? Bad form, bad form!
