I think the patent number is because steve parks is the one who came up with the rage flange that gives the rage bugs the action. Same thing with googan because he works with catch Co. Thats why they have the same patent.
Strike King had better and more realistic tail action on the swimming retrieve. Googan had a better and slower fall action while hoping it back. Bass love to attack while the bait is falling - the longer and slower the fall time, the more opportunity for bass to attack!
I dunno, to me, it look like rage king was "swimming" better... would like to see a re-do when you aren't standing in a pool waving a "Hit Me!" stick... 😋😎

Strike king looked like it had a little more action on the retrieve. But the Googan baits one looked killer on the fall. Both looked good though. Keep up the killer videos. Wish I could fish as much as you do man.
I picked up strike kings a couple years ago because I couldn’t get my hands on the Googan baits and I was not disappointed. If anyone is skeptical of the strike kings Let me tell you, they work! I just picked up some bandito bugs and I’m super excited to see the difference! Great video!

I remember on one of lunkers old videos he explained how he went to a big bait company to use their patent for the action of the bait. The googans got permission from strike king to use their patent for the action on baits. That’s why the numbers are the same

I use Googan baits and Strike King baits caught my pb on a chatterbait with a bandito bug on the back they also seem very durable they’re reasonably priced do they look similar? Yes that’s what happens when they share patents they tend to look alike

If they have the same patent #, then they are both (googan and strike king) manufactured by the same company. Someone please correct me if I am wrong, but a patent (as far as I'm concerned) is to identify a product's model. Again please correct me if I am incorrect.

The Rage Tail had the longer action do to longer appendages. It also has a larger profile than the Bandito Bug. Even if its slight, it makes a huge difference in presentation. The dito bug also has more flanged appendages than the rage. This equals out to a multitonal vibration underwater. VS the rage Tail having long primary appendages witch yes, do create a bigger thump. But only in the one range of vibration. The thing to take from this is acknowledging that both baits excell under different conditions and tactics. You cant go wrong. This coming from a guy who is a die hard googan baits man.
Strike king baits are amazing!!!! Their rage swimmer in green pumpkin has caught me more fish than any other soft plastic I've ever tried, but then again - I also swim a jig or throw a spinner bait 99.99% of the time :D
I like both if I can find the colors I want in googan I get it and if they don’t the strike king or Yamamoto are ok. All them will catch fish. Presentation is lots nuff important
There are several videos where lunkerstv talks about using another companies patent in order to make their baits. This is common practice, not just in the fishing industry.
They have the same patent because Googans paid to license the patent of the rage shape. So they have the same exact lip on the appendages. They had to ask strike king to use it and they’ve explained it and admitted it. I think the strike king has better action on hopping but googan has better on straight reel back. Both great baits

Personally I like the strike king more but that’s because I’ve fished it more but I did finally give in and pick up a pack of the googan baits so I’m gonna give them a try. So my opinion may change who knows. I’ll report back next time I get to fish both of them lol. I have caught alot of bass on them. I have also fished the Strike King and I do like the action on it alot. It seems to last longer than the Bandito Bug too.
Hope wright so I used to do that in these style videos, but I actually stopped because I don’t peg my weights anymore unless I’m fishing really thick grass.

Bandito bug is so good for Texas rig or for a Carolina rig. It’s probably my favorite bait besides trench hawg jr. that thing is the juice.

Honestly, the googan is more subtle than the strike king, but if the bass are aggressive to heavy moving plastics, strike king all day.

Get a small hypodermic needle and inject small pockets of air in the bait near the claws. Slows the decent a bit more

I'll grab googan every time. The action is close enough in both, but I have had more success with Googan baits. And I prefer the smell.
