We'll be reacting to Red Velvet's EP 'Cosmic' on stream this Saturday (6/29) @ 11:30am EST! Make sure to drop a follow so you don't miss the reaction! twitch.tv/kessandhan
there will be no other group like red velvet they’re truly one of a kind and im so glad i was able to be their fan for the past 9 years hopefully it’s not a goodbye yet and we’ll hear more music from them in the future😭💖
the moment after the bridge in the MV where the sacrifice falls through that ceiling window, the match cut to the mini sun and then to the festival dance with the flowers was so cool, that just plays in my mind whenever the song reaches that moment. Like editing wise its simple but the storyboarding for that moment was perfect, the feels and sync to the song was so good. I'm with Kess on the movie opinion XD, I was angry after watching it too (my brother liked it though lol), because of how it made me feel XD It was just so disturbing. The concept was such a good fit for Red Velvet though! The song itself I enjoyed instantly, have enjoyed the mini album too. Sunflower and night drive are 2 b sides are really liked but I'm giving the other b sides more listens and they're growing on me fast too. Thanks for fast reaction on this though, considering you're both recovering still I was not expecting one this week at all, so just wanted to send some appreciation for that too. 🙇♂
"Russian Roulette" recalls "Heathers" and "Jawbreaker" "Peekaboo" echoes films like "The Initiation o Sarah", "Satan's School for Girls" and A24's "Slice" (which is about pizza delivery boys being stalked and killed...although the film came out a year later so maybe this was a case of the MV inspiring a story) "Psycho" had a "Black Swan" theme (especially using mirrors illustrating obsession) "Feel My Rhythm" used art and particularly the deeply disturbing Hieronymus Bosch painting "The Garden of Earthly Delights" A24 needs to team up with Red Velvet for an epic horror movie musical
History - MV is inspired by Midsommar (The Movie). The film is inspired by the Swedish tradition of celebrating the summer solstice. The summer solstice is the most beloved and familiar tradition of Sweden, its home country, all are in a good mood. Fairycore, mysterious forest vibrations, June 19-26, summer nights are considered “magical, mysterious and dark”, it is believed that during this period it is performed "human ritual", which is reaized in the minimal details, Propacine to plans the power of “healing” and can also predict the future, while the young people, you have to reap silently so as not to break the magic, 7 different species of flowers and put under the pillow to dream of your beloved that will be sent (randomly) the next day by the cosmos to the sacrphic, (so a man falls from the sky at the beginning of the fully stunned MV, and the girls run to catch him). According to Sweden, the "ritual" part is a legend, and only happens only in the movie "Midsommar", but there are controversies. It is also the largest holiday in Sweden, only a few countries celebrate this beyond Sweden, and is celebrated in very different ways depending on the country. But the film was specifically inspired by Midsommar in Sweden, which is what they make reference in MV. Traditions between countries have some differences and similarities. Such as: Belarus, Poland and Finland, which are the greatest similarities in the original traditions of Sweden. "Moonshine", the two composers who collaborated with Kenzie in this track are Swedish. Red Valvet, even having a company that is not giving due value to these divas, and even with low budget they have turned Golden gunpowers, and yet proved once again, with a million views in 3 hours, which should be very more when posting this), to confirm that they are the best group of live idols. Red velvet you will always be unique !! ❤🌺🌹🌼🌸🌻🪴🌹🌺👏👏👏
Poor Kess fighting for her life with this mv concept hahaha I haven't watched Midsommar yet, now I'm kind of even more scared to >,< ReVel's concepts are so unique, I always anticipate their comebacks
Psycho was also conceptually inspired by the movie Black Swan! I remember the members saying! But this is probably THE title track of all RV title tracks for me! I'm obsessed with the sound & how dreamy it is 😭😍😍🙌🏾 they've really done it again 🥹👑 happy 10th anniversary Luvies & Velvets ♥️♥️🫶🏾🫶🏾
I think though the MV got inspired by Midsommar, the message that RV giving is different. I think the stranger did not get sacrificed (nor died) but got joined in RV CULTure and became a member of their communion which led them celebrating and worshipping together the beautiful moment of their serendipity-like relationship. So ultimately it shows the fell of Luvies to RV Midsummer festival 😂
I love the northern european folk vibes, the patterns on those white dresses are so nice and rarely seen in modern clothes outside of norwegian mountain sweaters let alone in kpop where it has never appeared. Perfect vibes for Red Velvet in the summer. Also, Yeri though, this concept looks so good on Yeri.
When that heavy base hits I immediately got goose bumps. This is one of the best title track from RV and love the MV with real life shooting style and not too much CGI. It's an amazing comeback.
Okay WHAT IF Feel My Rhythm's storyline follows the girls dreaming of what a free life looks like, that's why every scene looks like it comes from a book or a fairytale, because all they can do is imagine as they're trapped by their abusive father in the basement. Wendy snaps, and k-words their father, they escape, get caught, and eventually was let go by the judicial court because they're victims OR they OA'ed (series on Netflix) themselves out of the situation where the cops caught them by dancing in unison, and they got teleported to a different dimension where they joined a cult.
They released the song right on the Midsommar day (I mean the swedish celebration irl). And talking about Sweeden, the song also has ABBA vibes, group which is from that country!
They all look absolutely stunning this comeback and the mv is just beautiful 🤩 Cosmic has got to be one of my favorite songs of this year and it seems only Red Velvet can top Red Velvet. Oh and Seulgi chasing that poor woman was the highlight of this mv for me 💀
Is that kind like verry red velvet vibe, so i love that vibe, the song is so really catchy and dramatic ❤ i really love with the pre chorus part of the song
4:40 correction the highnotes in bridge is not seulgi it will be wendy bcoz i watch the precording wendy sing that part was so effortless and shè also have a cold but she prove wendy is main vocalist ever❤❤❤😊
The first time I watched and listened to this it gave me Midsommar with Mamma Mia vibes since it is really inspired to Midsommar. I swear if they stopped making music I will also stop listening to Kpop because they solidified their name worldwide. Happy 10th Annivesary to our Queens! Reveluvs forever! ❤
I think the black gloved person / nature creature at the table is the dead guy / sacrifice returning to the earth / feeding plants / circle of life / rebirth? Idk. Iconic video. Always love their creepier stuff.
The Shining movie is all over several other MVs. MJ's Thriller inspired RBB. I love all the movie, art, and classical music references in RV MV's. Also, this is so ABBA...so, so Swedish in every which way incuding Midsommer itself which dictated the comeback date.
Kess, AGREEEEEED, took me a while to make it through the whole thing (& before seeing the ending confirmation).... Song, MV both 10's, nightmares (again) for the next month b/c of this concept, -48 lololol. Guess you could call this Scary Good. Let's pray then next comeback is NOT a Green Inferno concept ha!~
according to one of the extra actors in the music video the story start with a human falling in their alien planet so none of them is a human except the may queen
Listen one thing you will come to know is that when Swedish people get on the production team it’s an instant bangger!! why do you think that we loved the Lady Gaga so much when she was in her prime because she was primarily working with Swedish producers so Katy Perry, and Rihanna/ Nicki Swedish producers are the Underrated hit makers of pop!
This song is perfect it just screams “kpop” to me and Red Velvet have some of the most beautiful voices in kpop (in my opinion). The midsommer theme was really intriguing this video is so good! If you take recommendations can I recommend checking out CRAXY’s new song called STUPIDZ? It’s has an old school hip hop vibe and the girls did such a great job! If you don’t take recommendations then you can ignore this lol
my dad and I both reacted really strongly by the hanging dresses but I think it kinda is a very human reaction to be disturbed seeing something, living or inanimate, defying gravity even or sometimes especially with a rope
I don't think they're actually killing that guy, it's more like they're getting him to join their cult. In the comeback teaser (the one with all the references to their past) they were leaving that world because they were alone in it, longing for someone (luvies), and the world they go to next is this one. So maybe they're just summoning people and getting them thru a ritual to worship them as the goddesses they are?
Not even sure about the concept. I love it but. Like, what? Creepy pretty flower I love you sorta, but I'm going to maybe get murdered? The song itself was kinda creepy and pretty too. I like it a lot but I don't know why. Going to need a lot of listens to understand, which I like. A+ probably going to S+ once I get it.

"Why is Red Velvet always killing people?"
Reveluvs: First time?😭
hahahaha yeah! First time here
The question is why is Red Velvet letting people live? LOL
RV always kill Luvies with their comebacks and we revive by them.
Red Velvet giving us a 3minute version of Midsomar with ABBA vibes 😭
