I like how people like you have completely blown this very small criminal case into an international topic....Tom green did essentially the same thing 20 years ago. Yeah it was disrespectful but what he did (playing loud music in a restaurant and walking onto a construction site for a few seconds) is not that serious, in fact in the U.S. you wouldn't even get arrested for this. Life has gotten petty since social media and public entertainment platforms imo, 🤷 anything for a view type ish.

@@alwynsmit3546 You’re thinking WAY too much of prisons from the US. Japan’s prison is one of the most strictest prison in existence. You start off with a flier rulebook explaining what you must know about the prison, then either on the next hour or next day, you’re off to working through such endless grueling hours. Even on breaks, you have to go through exercising while the guards constantly shout at your face to annoy you. BTW, back to working hours, if it’s cold or hot in the seasons, you best prepare for it cuz those conditions will break you even more. And when you’re back in your cell, you’re still being pushed around where you cannot lay down or do your thing unless the security guard tells you so. Basically, this prison uses boot camp discipline to break you emotionally and mentally easy, and it’s one of those prisons to make you cry uncle in less than a day.

In the US inmates interact and pass small contraband (like altered hotpots and clothes) to each all the time. Even the inmates in segregation, solitary and death row interact with other inmates through inmate janitors and such.
Believe me, most American inmates would go insane if they were not allowed to talk to each other. Especially the ones in segregation.
The inmate hustle is part of the grease that keeps inmates somewhat civil and the system running smoothly.

The attempt to avoid any personal responsibility is going to backfire. An insincere apology, while trying to pretend that you arent really guilty, is viewed in Japan as worse than admitting everything. He should have just bowed deeply, called himself a stupid gaijin, and blamed it on his own social misunderstanding (while fully admitting that he did indeed blast loud music while ignoring request to stop).

No. Just no. For anyone who doesnt know him and never watched his videos, to deport him or give him something on probation, would be the absolute wrong signal.
The amount of disrespect the man had, harrassing japanese people on a daily basis, make fun about Hiroshima and wishing people to have a nuclear bomb dropped on them again, on several occasions, and many many more of those things, cant go unpunished. Deporting wouldnt be a real punishment, probation and fines wouldnt be a punishment.
This has to be a SIGNAL to any other of those kind of streamers out there - a SIGNAL that goes around the world.
Send him to Japanese Prison for the maximum amount of time applicable in this situation, then deport him.
The other nations he tried to do this, like Thailand, should put a travel ban on him.
The USA should check if he has some kind of refugee status, if this is still applicable, if they could deport him too, to Somalia.
People cant just go around and harass anyone and say the worst things possible. And do it in the most polite country on earth to push the limits even more.

if he does then there is corruption. Japanese people who did similar things like JS got prison time. The only reason why JS might not get prison time is because of the U.S embassy not wanting a U.S citizen being in a Japanese jail.
