I will never buy anything by Turle Wax ever again! Now that I have two elderly parents who have both worked their asses off, both raised on Farms and ranches, never going to college but worked their way up (especially my Father because while my Mother could have gone even further in her career, but she put me first and needed to be able to come running at any given moment because I was a sickly child.) in their careers. When they retired, they were both very lucky and blessed to retire with pretty decent pensions and medical insurance along with Medicare and such. My Dad will even say to this day that he just so happened to be at the right spot and the right time to get as far up as he did. Anyway, I was a Patient Coordinator, a Phlebotomist, medical billing and coder and then a nurse before I had to go on Disability and I would see these patients come in who were in incredibly sick and with no medical insurance besides Medicare (Which really doesn't cover as much as the Government likes for people to believe.), no pension, and because either they didn't work a certain amount of time they needed to get much of Social Security benefits.
I live in FL in a mainly Seinor Community and a lot of these poor people won't even go to the Dr. because they can't afford to, are in their 70's and even older and working fulltime jobs to help make some extra money to just live in a really shit trailer home, some of them were even homeless living in tents all over this abandoned house with a big yard and I see a lot of them only being able to ride a crap bicycle, walk or someone just drop them off at their jobs. It really gets under my skin to see that our Government and these large corporations are treating people, especially our Seniors like they are less than human and these big corporations are even allowed to be doing these things to people. A lot of these people are even abandoned by or don't have grown children that will/can help them out. I'm starting to see in the news and even hear from people firsthand, that Amazon & Google and these types of companies are leaving their employees who have injured themselves while on the job are being fired because they are missing work, not paying for work man's comp and some of these poor people are living in their cars, homeless or on the edge of becoming homeless. Me being now on Disability permanently due to many things but my first injury was on the job during my 90 day trial period working for the "INhumane Society" carrying an abused, injured and emaciated German Shepherd by myself. The dr.s office I had been working for had been shut down because there was some insurance fraud amongst other things and I couldn't get unemployment because they said that because of the way we all had lost our jobs they couldn't come up with a code or something. So I just applied to work there because I love animals and helping them. There was more killing of animals there than there was helping of them. Anyway, because I was badly injured on my 28th day of working there, they didn't have to pay for work man's comp or even give me any time off to recover. My back had gotten so bad that I had to get injections, MRIs, X-rays, physical therapy and all of these things but couldn't pay for anything on my own. My amazing parents helped me financially as much as they could but I am a grown ass woman that wanted to take care of them. So I finally gave in with the advice of several dr.s and neurosurgeons to apply for Disability. It took 3 years to finally get approved for Disability and during that time I couldn't work. If it weren't for my parents, I would have been homeless. Once I got approved, my monthly income is $864. Yes, I have really good medical insurance, unless someone screws that all for me and others on disability. I can not pay for a place to live on that income. My mother is 76 and my father is 81 and I'm now having to help them out with various things and I am able to live with them which helps me. But with my health issues, I can only do so much. Aside from all of the crap I'm dealing with and my parents are, we are still so much better off than these people who have worked so hard for one company like your Father and who are getting screwed by them and our government. If I were able to do something about these things, I would. But something has to be done!
