I agree it's easy but that customizability should be given to the players. Like for example maybe have the normal ones but have something like smash bros where you can set what each button does. It would just be easy to implement and improve accessibility for players.
I’ll address your critisisms, also I want to be civilized and begin by saying, I like Wonder, I have 100% it and have all the badges, now I agree, Bowser Jr. being the only mini boss is sad, but the boss dilemma is basically Koopalings or BJr, pick your poison. Mario can’t divulge since, when they do we get Boom Boom, and no one likes Boom Boom. I’m not saying it’s right, just what happens. The difficulty is catagorized by stars, so some levels will be 4 stars surrounded by 3 or 2, so this levels will stand out while the other levels blend in. The special world tries to remedy this by only having 5 star levels, which I personally found some hard, like “Way of the Goomba” or “Final-Final Badge marathon”. Playing Yoshi/Nabbit does make the game easier, but you don’t have to play them, if I play with my little cousin, I don’t want him to feel bad because he can’t keep up, I just want to have fun while he runs into every koopa he sees. Power Ups are kinda underwhelming, but that’s also par for the course with Mario, I’m not happy, but not every power up can be a winner. Some badges are similar but fill different niches, the float jump gives a more airy feel to each jump, while crouching high jump feels more impactful, and spring feet is meant for a challenge, just like Jet Run and Invisibility, these badge acts as a obstacle for the player more than an advantage, since people already do challanges like, “Can I beat Mario Wonder without looking left?” Nintendo probably figured they could get more exposure for the game if people had pre-made challenges to make free publicity about. The characters are a lot, I agree, they could’ve dialed it back, but more customization isn’t bad, it just lets you play who you want, also I am happy for Daisy, too. The remap buttons thing is a problem with the switch more than the game, the controls should be able to be changed to whatever you want anywhere in my opinion, but since that’s not something you can do, they just made presets based on the most popular options. And the Run/Fire problem is as old as the OG Mario, but if they change it, other people will still complain, so they just keep it The flowers voices can be turned off in settings, if you want them gone, toy can’t but they at least don’t have to speak. I think of it as cutting out their tongues, makes it sound like they’re in pain. The poplin coins paths is dumb, it should’ve been a toll or something the idea that giving them money makes them motivated is dumb. 11:24-12:00 is mainly Ad Hominem, but it did make me laugh And I’m sorry you don’t “feel what Mario fans feel” but it’s ok it’s your opinion after all, if you don’t like it that’s cool, and if you think I’m a jackass for commenting this, that’s cool too, feel how you want. My opinion isn’t yours, we’re human. If this changed your mind I’m glad you took my words to heart, and if it didn’t (which is very likely since I’m a nobody on the internet) I’m grateful you at least read it.
Thank you for this! Nah you make some valid points. This video was mostly a troll post, I was hoping people would get it by the end of the video. Although my criticism is somewhat true its very exaggerated on purpose. I agree with everything you've said, and appreciate your comment. The only thing I can say is true for me is that Mario games are usually boring, but that's just me, I like Mario 64 and super Mario world. Wonder is not a bad game, I'm just messing.
But it isn't though, the buttons are next to each other. I have to slide my thumb over like I am pressing both buttons. I got used to it, but it still felt uncomfortable. I don't have this issue with sonic games.
The gane can just not be for you and that's fair but the difficulty of some levels was definitely incosistent, there could've been more variety of bosses, and the final boss could definitely have been better. There weren't too many characters tho imo, other than hidden blocks existing for each character, I think that having all of them just adds to the charm that theyre all here together. It still doesnt compare to Sonoc though 😅 Mario only has like 10 characters total if we count all toads as 1 and the yoshi's as 1 also.
Visually it's an amazing Mario game but I find the power ups incredibly underwhelming. To me nothing will ever beat the Feather power up. The Wonder flowers are really fun to experience but everything else just feels bland. The only power up I actually like is the drill. But really just for niche situations. Bubble feels like it's an "easy mode" power up. And Elephant is just meh. It's a cute concept but not very exciting. I definitely enjoyed the New SMB games more than Wonder. But SMW is hands down my favorite game.
The problem I had with this game to much short levels and badge levels and we only got one special world with only 10 levels I feel this game had 5 good level at best and the bosses battle has to be one the worst of the series but the art style this game is amazing the art style will age like fine wine in the next 20 years
Yeah, this game just wasn't it at the end of the day. Stopped playing after the first few weeks and felt no need to look back at it either. I've heard some crazo's say this game desereved GOTY just because of the "expressions" so that's all I need to know to tell me who this game is for. Boss battles were extremely lackluster and the gimmicks were alright but once you've seen it the first time you probably won't want to see it again. That being said the online was ok and sometimes a fun way to get through a level, some of the remixes were really good and loved using the Drill power and Bubble power. LMao at "I don't give a damn if you're lonely."
I was hoping to see people with the same view of the game as me in the comment section but apparently you're just getting shit so I'm here to share that burden I guess I didn't enjoy the game quite as much as I was hoping to, honestly, and it saddens me a lot since I love 2D platformer and especially the mario franchise. and I get that I might just not be the target audience (I believe the title is more kids oriented) but where other mario gamers were adaapted to kid, I feel they still had enough difficulty to please a wider category of gamers and I'm glad Nintendo allowed themselves to try so many new things and have fun with their main franchise, but to me many of the flowers were just showcases of ideas and I honestly don't like them that much, but without them most level are just really boring imo (because theyre not meant to be played without it, but that's a problem to me because past titles always managed to bring a lot of ideas and fun despite how simple, yet effective, the basic formula of mario is) anyway, I lost myself, forgot stuff, explained my opinion poorly, struggled with not being a native english speaker, and am siding with you even if some of your criticism doesn't align with what I thought of the game, but in the end I'm glad I finally found someone who's disappointed too because it felt frickin alone
I will admit, I was mostly trolling and exaggerating alot on purpose to see what kind of response I'd get. But hey man, I get ya. My honest experience can be summed up as.... fine. I didn't hate it, didn't love it, just.... fine. I normally don't play Mario games because they are a bit to easy and legit don't keep me engaged most of the time. But I've played Mario 64, great game, I've played Super mario world also a great game. I think Super Mario Wonder is better than Sonic Superstars and I'm a sonic fan, but I personally enjoyed Super stars more and probably because I just prefer 2d Sonic over 2d mario. Nothing wrong with having different opinions, you should be able to share your honest thoughts. I won't ever judge you, if I do I am 100% joking. Thanks for the comment, and take care.
Your opinion is bad ngl This is because you never bothered to understand. You make your judgement on what you already like and can’t get something new. The creativity in super Mario wonder is 10x more than sonic.
Sonic 06 is the best game ever made, and Mario was never good.
Am I being too obvious here?
Ngl man a lot of your criticisms seem to stem from misunderstandings 💀

That guy was pressing a and b, not y and b. He isn't even pressing the run button unless he changed it for some reason.
