Brilliant use of space with a spot for everything. It’s challenging fitting all the essentials and creating a comfortable, functional space in a minivan. Seems like you really took your time and allowed it to come together organically. Thanks for sharing your set-up and showing how you use it.
I really like your design. You’ve made use of every inch in a great way! I had a SUV and I am now in the process of looking for a minivan. You gave me lots of great ideas.! Thanks for sharing! 🎉Give Rocky a scratch behind the ears! He’s beautiful!
Looking to downsize from my beloved but unreliable '87 Vanagon and I'm loving your build. Such ingenuity! My issue with a lot of car/minivan camper builds is that you have to go outside to use the kitchen or there's no room to use a potty bucket inside. Not great if you need privacy or the weather is bad. But your build solves all of that!
I've been watching van videos for 5 years now and this may be the best one I have seen for what I want to do. I'm probably close to a year away from doing this and I'm saving this video for use when that time comes. Thank you for sharing what you have learned in your years of experience.
You've made very good use of your space. I love all your design ideas. I am always amazed how people can sleep on 2 in. of foam. I need a bit more cushion for these old bones, lol.
The principle of getting more than one function out of each item is the cornerstone of my design. As is the 'fitted' nature for everything. Many good ideas.
Wow great build 👍. You really put a lot of thought in the design of your van. You used most every space available. Great job 👍. Thanks for sharing this with us 👍
What a great video and so thoughtful on space usage. Love your front seat tray set up. For some reason I thought some of the Siennas had an under carriage mount for a full size tire. Thank you for sharing.
Truly brilliant setup and self-build. Amazing use of space, uncluttered, and creative. And, Mr. Rocky? Where does he sleep (in bed with you)? How do you keep the car cool in warm weather for Rocky, when you need to run errands?
Rocky sleep on the floor. I don't travel during summer months. If it is too hot, I will park it in the shade and keep the windows open. I also have two fans.
Hey Vinny, I really like your well thought out build, having a modular set up is so crucial when space is limited. I was wondering, what do you do with Rocky when you have to do things like laundry, and other errands that may not allow dogs?
Rocky will stay in the car and wait for me. His eyes will keep looking at where I go. One time I went away for 40 minutes and when I came back, two cop cars and one ranger were there because some people called the cops. The ranger has a heat sensor and check my car's temperature. It wasn't too hot since I have all the windows opened. So they left without give me a ticket😅. If I didn't open the window, no one will able to see inside.
@@vinnyandrocky Good thing they understood Rocky was safe and comfortable. I go overlanding and sometimes I have to go into stores to grab stuff, so I have to leave my dog in the car, and I will park in the shade (even if further walk), leave windows open and have a mini fan blowing at her.
Nice set up! I saw you traveling with a GSD and decided to subscribe. Rocky is a really beautiful sheppie! I have 2, a bi-color and a black and tan. If I ever travel, I would like to take at least one with me. Do you have problems with leaving him in the car, ever? I would worry that I might not be able to keep them cool enough. Did you make that panel with the fan that goes in the moon roof? Very clever set-up!
No, I have no problem leave him in the car, I make sure it is well within his comfort zone. I did have one occasion that when I came back from bathroom, two cops and a ranger were there. Some one called the cops. The ranger use a temperature gun to check the inside of the car and found it was OK( I have all the windows down 50%). Yes, I made the exhaust fan in the moon roof. Traveling with a GSD is actually safer than solo because they stay alert when I am sleeping.
@@vinnyandrocky I'd suggest creating & putting a sign up in a window on each side of your vehicle when you're gone from the van, running errands. Then people will know your van is kept at a comfortable temperature for your GSD, there's a fan, water for him, and you're running an errand and will be right back. Put your cell phone number at the bottom of the sign, so people can call or text you if they are worried. This will save you from police being called.
