Is it easier to pull the part out of the mold with semi permanent release agent than with wax+PVA?

If they mould has a good surface finish, then a semi permanent is much better.

Hey there, weve been havin issues with our PVA coating lately (Coverall from Rexco, been brushing it on the mold) and i just stumbled upon your video. Gonna try a 1,4mm nozzle tomorrow. Could you maybe tell me what specific semipermanent release agents your using that you mentioned in the video? Have you tried different ones?
send some love from germany down there
Edit: and till what sanding grit are you finishing your molds?

With any new release system, you need to trail it on small sections first so you can build confidence with it, and with any semi perm the surface condition is critical to its success, we use chem lease and TR semi perm,

I would doubt it, you can still use silicone based Wax with PVA, you just need to be a lot more careful with it.

    hi Sir
How to make wax at home for fiberglass release?

Hi, I would wax the same way I do in the workshop, use a mould release wax. If you are unsure of the condition of the mould I would use PVA as well.

    2. are you ever using only honey wax without PVA?
    3. what kind of nozzle do you use to spray PVA?
    4. did you mix PVA with other (water, etc.) to thin a PVA?

Hi, thanks for your comments, 1. Yes its a silicone based wax, and we have found it best for honey wax over top of PVA not underneath. 2. Yes we use honey wax most of the time without PVA for a well cured mould. 3. We use a 1.4mm nozzle. 4. We only mix it with water if it cobwebs, when this happens we put 10% water to stop it cobwebbing in the air.
