Go to 3:57 in the video to see how to select the input from mixer. Pause it there and look at the channel next to it just for example. Click the monitor “In” button to hear the input of your synth. If you select the correct inputs you will hear your synth.
Hi, I founded your video because i was sesrching a way to have One external synth route to ableton, so i can use vst plugins to effect my synth in real time. How i can do t'hat? I own a behringer x32 producer. Thank you a lot for any kind of help.
nice video .. but when i'm recording i'm not getting a good signal on abelton or protools even when i turn up the gain from the Midas mixer .. any tips about that ?
I find myself turning up the gain quite a bit when recording. That's because when you select local 1-8 for your card out, you are just hearing the signal after the gain on the input. If that's not enough you will need to select Out1-8 on your card out, and set the tap to post fader. Then you have more gain on the card out that is the input to Ableton or ProTools.
I have the Same Problem. i turn up the gain in the mixer up to -3 db (just before clipping) but in mi Ableton Audio Chanel y have -12 db. I think that the POST FADER trick is good, but if i want to record a live show i need the faders to control de FOH. i found many people on internet with the same problem but never a straight answer. if you have solved the problem, please share your move! Thanks a lot
Hi, any idea why my abletons input levels are not effected by the input channel fader on my board? I can turn the boards fader all the way down and ableton will still receive a signal.
joey tang yes. Check your card settings on the routing page on your mixer. If your your card setting reads local 1-8 it’s sending to the ableton input just after the input knob on the mixer. Fader will do nothing. If you set card 1-8 to out 1-8 you should get fader control but to have to send signal to bus 1 then make sure your bus 8 fader is up as well as the channel fader. Easier than it sounds. I’ll make future video,
Hey Jeff thanks for the video. Recording like this worked for me, however every once in a while there is crackling and distortion in the audio when i listen to it after, as if my computer was struggling to process it all. The thing is that i got a new macbook pro that can handle a lot more than that. Any clues?
I use it as a control surface sometimes. Depends on what I'm doing. If I'm recording while songwiting or composing, I usually just use as a 2 track interface and use the mouse in Ableton. If I'm playing multiple tracks as backing tracks live I'll assign each track a separate output and mix on the M32 so each band member can get a different mix in their in ear monitors. When mixing in Ableton I'll assign only the master mix out to stereo 1/2 and then use the M32 as a midi control surface to control the faders in Ableton.
Supe at it I wouldn’t say they are better but it can make your workflow better if you are used to working with an analog mixer. I typically mix in the DAW and track using the console to monitor what I am recording. I also use the mixer for live shows.
Jeff Pence neither one but I want to be able to both use it do you know what I do wrong I have tried connect it with midi and usb but the driver I installed on my pc also doesnt recognize the midas
Willem 1234 do you have access to another Midas or Behringer mixer to test it? I’m not familiar with using able ton on a pc. Just a Mac. Can you see the m32r as a sound device on the pc on other apps like a sound device for windows?
please can we get a tutorial on behringer x32. how to connect it to ableton live lite..

HOW TO SEND MIDI FROM ABLETON TO XR FOR DELAYS
Greetings ..... I like the sound of that console as pre amp ...... I miss your Digital Performer tutorials.
Wow that was a while ago! Thanks
When you moved on from nuclear fusion and fighting spiderman to audio producing
LOL

That’s usually a digital issue somewhere. Maybe a mismatch. Can you explain your signal flow?
You have the monitor on most likely you need to turn it off, the same thing happened to me
Super great job thank u 🥂
So are you not using the Mackie Control because it works amazing with Ableton?

Great video, Looking at purchasing one. Are mixes on this unit better than mixing in the daw?

do you need any certain drivers to do this? on pc
Not on the Mac which I use but not sure about the PC
How can you configure it so the first midi has an audio out to master? I can't seem to get a click track into my x32 rack..
I will do a screencast of this on Ableton in the next few days.

My ableton doesnt recognize the midas m32r live I have connected it via USB do you know why ableton doenst recognize it?
Willem 1234 as midi controller or sound card or neither one?
