I stand corrected. Sight just said it's gonna indeed be $9.99. That's incredible and makes it a must-buy imo. Apologies to the folks up above that were correct. I was expecting this to be at least as much as Flex Beat so this upgrade is a no-brainer. Wow.
All that matters to me is the sound quality, if it sounds like a comb filtered mess, or their cherry picking highly separated source material for these advertisements, then I'm still going to buy it and use it 🤣 Just hoping the quality is really high. But this is awesome!
I think this will create another generation of producer styles. Its going to be a huge impact on production. Its like living in a world of limitations and then all of the sudden you can fly to outer space.

"One small step from Akai , One giant leap for mankind,,the beat maker and the music creator" ....,,,this is on another level!!!...,and I do hope that they will indeed introduce it to Force!! 🙏
Well Akai might have cherry picked the sample to chop. No knock to them. In Serato a lot of the stuff I STEM sounds like pure gold. But a lot also sounds pretty bad.
They're asking 9,99 for the MPC Stems update. Although that doesn't seem outrageous at first sight, for a platform that pretends to be the ultimate in sampling this should be considered core MPC functionality and therefore a free update IMO.
When this came to Koala, in roughly the same fashion (the stems got put on their own pad cause Koala doesn’t have layers), my favorite thing to do was grab only the melodic elements of a full track and finely chop it up to make all kinds of cool instruments. Can’t wait to do this on MPC! I wonder if they made their own algorithm cause this sounds really good
The quality of those Koala stems still lacks like FL. Lalal and Serato leading in that sense will be interesting to compare but Akai sounds good so far
I remember having to cop the stereo (left and right side separation vinyls) to try to achieve this. For example horns would be on the left and piano on the right and, I wanted the piano parts. By panning hard right or left, samples were sifted. It was old school trickery and, those vinyls in that format are still hard to come by.
I'm a beta tester for Engine stems, the OS for Denon DJ & Numark's Standalone DJ consoles, both of which are InMusic brands. They were the first & currently the only to have Standalone stems. I assume it's the same source code & algorithm. I figured it was only a matter of time before they implemented it in Standalone MPCs.
@@user-io9yb7iw8e Engine 3.2.1 is still in Public Beta & isn't an official release yet so technically you could call yourself a Beta tester Lol. I'm testing the SC6000 Beta & Prime 4+ which actually sounds better & loads faster which leads me to believe the Prime 4+ has a different processor.
When this hits it's game over for all other samplers. They will be forced to follow suit or get exited out of the market. I was planning to buy a software that does something like this for the Mac and pc called ripx. But now that it's coming to the MPC I have no reason to. This is huge for akai.
The MPC remains ahead of the pack! It does so many different things - and all at once! AKAI is (and has been) writing the book when it comes to State of the Art Stand-Alone Beat Making, Sampling, MIDI implementation, On-Board Plugins and Signal Processing Song Creation, not to mention MIDI over USB Connectivity and so many useful features. I would like to see implementation of Song Arrangement capabilities borrowed from the AKAI Force. The existing Song Mode in MPC is adequate for many things - but I believe AKAI Force is superior for certain things such as LIVE Performance and Realtime Song Arrangement features.
I’ve been waiting particularly for your review! This is nice! I knew you’d push the line and ask the important questions! I’m excited. So it doesn’t look like a plugin but apart of the sampling workflow? Also, when are they going to let us utilize the best stretching algo in standalone? 🤔

This sht is beautiful! The only thing, that kinda concerns me a bit. If i wanna do the stems.. use just the vocals n melody. I would have to chop them separately unless i re-sample them as one AND THEN re chop it together
This new feature will lockdown everyone's studio. If you have one of the new MPCs, no need to buy new gear because now you'll have everything you need in one package. Thanks for the video Ave!
Once FL added stem separation, I immediately said AKAI would HAVE to add it now. It's super dope and I feel like this feature will be best utilized in the MPC vs Serato or FL. Small side not: The audio in between your voice and the video was significantly different and I had to keep adjusting the volume. But that's just a small heads up, you still that guy. ✔✔
Since FL just introduced stem separation a few months ago, that makes me believe Akai was already working on it at the time for them to come out with it at the top of the year. I believe there was just a time delay for release since they have to test it on more devices compared to Image Line who has less devices to deal with (PC and Apple).
@@Reggi_SampleLol I would say FL has a decent quality sometimes with the stems, but you can definitely hear the sounds bleeding into the stemmed out samples so I know what you mean
Processing power is going to be the bottleneck for this. Considering how long it takes RipX to separate stems on my computer, I'm doubting the MPC has anywhere near the processing power my computer has. I think there will be some long wait times. This is next gen technology and I doubt Akai ever intended to have it in the MPC when they designed it. BTW, RipX is pretty incredible for $90 it cost me.
