In 2023, The Green Chair Project had an incredible impact, providing:
1,979 beds and 1,436 households served
Over 1,000 tons of furniture and household items diverted from landfills
97% of families feeling more economically stable after receiving help
98% of children served were able to sleep in a bed, not on the floor, a sofa, or with others
Their work goes beyond just providing furniture - it’s about giving people the opportunity to rebuild and create a home, offering hope and stability when they need it most.
The Green Chair Project works with over 100 referring agencies, including national organizations and local nonprofits, all working together to ensure that no one in Wake County has to face the overwhelming burden of starting over without basic household necessities. Whether they’re recovering from homelessness, domestic violence, substance use, or a natural disaster, The Green Chair Project is there to help.
