How many languages are you raising your child to speak? Answer 2 if you're in camp BILINGUAL, 3 if you're in camp TRILINGUAL, and 4 if you're in camp QUADRILINGUAL!

Thanks for your video! Should we schedule time a day to speak a language? Oder a language a activity? Thanks so much

Hi Hana, thanks for your comment! Can you tell us a bit more about your background and language set-up?

@@themultilingualfamilyhub i speak Vietnamese as my mother tongue, German as my second language, and English. I'm also learning Chinese and Spanish. My husband speaks Polish and German, and we communicate in German. I would prefer to teach my baby German and Vietnamese as priority languages, with English later on. However, sometimes I feel confused about how my baby will absorb all the vocabulary. Sometimes I feel comfortable speaking German with her, and other times Vietnamese. I plan to speak German with her in the mornings and Vietnamese in the afternoons. When we're together with her father, we'll speak German. Does that sound okay? She is 7 months old and already tries to imitate us when we speak. I'm feeling a bit confused.

So cool! Would you say any of your kids have a preferred language to speak? And what language do they speak to each other?

Thanks for your comment, Diana! They definitely prefer English, and they speak to each other in English unless the conversation involves me/ dad x

I think filming the kids speaking or studying will be helpful for viewers

Hi Norah, thanks a lot for your comment! I am considering making videos of my kids speaking or studying, so that's definitely something I might do in the future. Thank you!

Thanks! I'm trying to speak more Chinese to them now. My oldest still can only understand a little. He is obsessed with those babybus games in Chinese and a Chinese character learning game though. He can recognise quite a lot of characters from the games but can't really understand sentences and words.
