    Liège has one of the best urban motorways I have ever seen. You get a great glimpse of the city yet it doesn't look ugly from inside the city, it's barely noticeable.

      Yet liege and charleroi have the ugliest street layouts and deadest roads in the whole country which is ironic since they’re both in wallonia being the side that puts belgium down

      @@omzldn6472 without Wallonia coal and steel industry, Flanders would still be a shithole. The Belgian governments have never been able to transform the economy to a modern one in Wallonia, unlike in Germanys Ruhrgebiet

    That's a really neat freeway...especially how those 4 lanes are squeezed through that urbanized zone. Enjoyed watching. Nice video!

      To drive to Luxemburg you should Drive the e42 because the e25 is much further from Luxemburg entfernt on the e40 to e42 there is no signaficrure of Luxemburg

    Dan ga je op vakantie naar de ardennen (via maastricht). Dan komen we bij Luik aan en toen dachten we, maak je maar klaar voor file (net zoals bij alle andere steden in België). Maar we waren er binnen 10 minuutjes doorheen. Mooi ritje =)

    The concrete section at start looks so bumpy and uneven. I hope it's just excess shake on the camera

    Liked the video and from 0:27 to 1:35 E25 (A26) Liege-Arlon-Luxembourg Autoroute has a concrete pavement similar to I-294,I-90 & I-94 in the solarcatcher's (Kris) home state of Illinois due to the fact that there is a service station on the motorway and I would say that the Walloon government needs to repave E25 (A26) from exit 45 (N678) up to exit 42 (N689) due to the badly deteriorating concrete pavement

    When i see comments saying that these are the worst highways in europe, believe me these are the best highways in europe and certainly one of the best in the world, no tolls, light on every meter of road, straight roads, simple indications what do you want more also about the Quality of the road, this video was posted more than 7 years ago it's quite fascinating how they improved now especially the 2 last years

  • @omzldn6472

    Wallonia really need to work on their roads lmao, flanders are improving their motorways a lot and IMO is the more dominant section of belgium in terms of nicer cities and infrastructure

    • @wassillamnaouar4471
      @wassillamnaouar4471 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Highways quality is improving in Wallonia : from Liège to Charleroi the roads are 3x2 lanes in a perfect quality. Same thing from Liège to Dutch border (Maastricht). However Wallonia must repave from Liege to Sprimont (?) The pavement quality there is awful ! After that E25 part, motorways have been rebuilt up to Bastogne

    • @omzldn6472
      @omzldn6472 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Wassil Lamnaouar They still need to fix up that shitty unsatisfying border cross from maastricht to liege considering its a generally ugly city with a depressing name along with a mad difference in road which are all over the place, street quality and houses compared to maastricht’s cleaner streets. Other than that belgium’s got much nicer cleaner neater cities towards the western flanders side like bruges and ghent. I mostly think its just dutch influence that made flanders better since netherlands is known to have the best infrastructure in the world

    Isn't it shorter (in time) just to drive through the city? The distance seems way smaller.

    • @EuropeanRoads
      @EuropeanRoads  9 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Yes, the former transit route takes about the same time and is significantly shorter. However, it is not well signposted, if you don't know the route, it can be difficult to follow. The old transit route was a frequent topic in motorist magazines back in the 1990s.

    Toen ik deze weg af reed kwam ik steeds verhoogde reparaties in de weg tegen, sommige waren zo hoog dat de auto gewoon een enorme dreun kreeg en op sprong. Ik durf deze wegen nooit meer af te rijden! Ik heb geen voertuig voor slecht terrein en dit zijn derde-wereld wegen! (dit was in 2007 en in 2010) When i was there, these roads are bad! ik never repeat it again! only a off road car can survive a regulair use of this roads.

      Youssef Benali C'est normale, je m'explique. elle sont tous d'abord régionale (les régions gére les infrastructures routiére et non l'Etat) c'est pas le meme budget pour la Wallonie,la Flandre et Bruxelles. Ensuite, tous le pays est repris dans la banane bleu (c'est l'épicentre du continent) avec autant de trafic, surtout les camions les routes use beaucoup plus vite et on ne peut pas les fermé pour les rénovés a cause de ceci donc les réparation et aménagement d'infrastructure ce font par tronçon. et pour terminé le climat joue beaucoup car nous avons un climat océanique qui donne 168 jours de pluie en moyenne sur l'ensemble du pays. cela donne une forte érosion... avec un hivers rude et les redoux du printemps. paf ta des chocopic.
