On next episode of skid factory. All welds a turbo manifold for a mini with a gt4 celica engine with no space in the engine bay to fit the turbo

"I don't play Forza, I do real stuff instead" - some more wisdom bombs from the man himself.
KoolBeanz4TheWin Good luck making a game at any "speed" feel like real life.
@@_Turbski Dunno about you but I never drive the exotics on Forza. Usually something daft like a Mk1 Fiesta with a turbo V6. Which Al was probably referring to with the Bedford.
I've been beaten badly by kids on Gran Turismo, then taken them to a go kart track and outrun them, and outdriven them on the street. A controller will never replace a real vehicle, and even with a wheel and pedals, your gaming chair isn't trying to throw you out the door or through the windshield on corners or braking. Driving games are fun, but nothing beats the real thing.
If this build doesn't both inspire you and make you realize how much work cool projects are, you aren't paying attention. :P
@@colormesarge Tell me about it. I'm hoping to get some Link ECU love in the future.
@@802Garage Jump on facebook and look up 'Mint Monaro'. That guy has taken a pile of rust and is totally rebuilding it. Some serious work in that too.
Check out Bad Obsession Motorsport channel, no joke the amount of time and effort they have put into that car is insane...
Somebody send Tuning Fork a lemon squash.
Finally something good to watch today
after a hard days work theres nothing better than watching a couple of legends work their magic on an old van :D
You guys are getting even better and better each episode. Thoroughly entertaining. Humour and tech perfectly put together
You seemed like a second year apprentice to me Woody!
He’s come a long way, also has a brilliant man in Alan to learn from. Most apprenticeships teach you the fastest way to clean toilets, empty bins, sweep floors and live below the poverty line. I was one of them
My absolute favourite show on TH-cam. Cheers for a good program.
Awesome work guys. Fantastic to see it running.
"I do love the cox"
-Millsy, 2018
Love the fact you finally included some riding as well.
The Bedford finally moves under it own weight. And leaves the garage. Amazing it actually all finally came together. Good job boys. Well done.😉😉👌👌
Seeing a smile on Al's face warms my heart.
I wanna hear more about the galapagos duck sanctuary...
Truly some of the best TV to be found anywhere! Cheers!
Favorite show on TH-cam thanks guy's 🤗🤗🤗
Blokes like Scotty are worth their weight in gold.
I'd love to see the Bedford when its all finished in a few months! Even though you guys have finished your work if Millsy doesn't mind.
So nuts that Scotty can run the car through remote access. Haltech is some legit wizzbangery
The wizzbangery is just Windows. He's using a remote access session to control Al's laptop. All he's doing is pressing the mouse on buttons instead of Al. It's no different to how the IT Dept fix your work computer over the phone.
Yep, probably TeamViewer or LogMeIn Rescue or similar. Nothing overly flash about it, but still cool I guess.
@@truculenttabasco To those not in the I.T. profession, it's pretty insane. To people like me who've been in I.T. for some time, it's pretty run of the mill. I still think it's pretty cool running Firefox through Putty over SSH using X Forwarding though.
@@himaro101 How would you even begin to do that? All I've used Putty for is remoting into layer 3 switches to search MAC address and uptime etc.
The one show I love waking up to on Mondays, mad skids on a new build makes me happy - comin atcha from the states
Nice work guys...My ex wife needed a flange replacement too.!
Cheap rebore option is stick a leg of ham in and pull the bone out.
Fast vans and wagons will ALWAYS have a special place in my heart.
Finish working on dirt squirter, cook dimsims on bbq, come inside to find new skid factory episode. Doesn't get much better than this. Time for a lemon squash
Glad to see the Bedford running guys. Great work and dedication
You have no idea how happy I am that within the first 5 meters of its first ever movement under it's own power you did a skid! You made me proud Allan thank you.
Love the series guys, now it just needs to do mad skids with a lawn tractor trailer behind it
Pretty cool advert for Haltech there. How easy it is to talk to someone qualified, and how quickly they can help you through the power of the internet
I’m probably going to ruffle some feathers, but skid factory is more interesting and well put together than most of mcm content,
Suitable music, informative and at times funny 👌🏼
That's by design. MCM is supposed to be an insane waste of time. They even acknowledge that they're not pro's and that this show is meant to be informative. So it really depends on what you prefer, real information or a little madness.
Adrian Gilman mcm has gone down the drain. Long gone are the days of two blokes working on cars just like the guy next door. It has became a clusterfuck of scripted irrealistic sponsored builds while they're too busy with their cashgrab side projects. And nothing against that, they've worked to be able to reap the financial benefits. Just don't shove down our throats as it has been done time and time again that mcm hasn't changed. It has and it's very far from the informative, friendly, simple mcm beginnings. Plus, moog persona has even gotten worse and at times it's easily seen how Marty is fed up but tags along just not to ruin the shtick.
first name last name As in stop using your brain and be a little ordered ant? Gent bent you piss bag.
Skid Factory you can see the engineering process happen, MCM it's a flurry of fast camera shots and loud music.
Different strokes for different blokes.
Reminds me of my youthful days. I had a Bedford van with a chevy V8 and TH 350 tranny. Swapped out the rear end for a Ford 9 inch. Surprised a lot of cars at the stoplights. Good fun. I really miss the old days.
I can’t wait to see this thing rip 🇦🇺🇦🇺💯💪
let's just hope this is not the last episode!! i want to see it on the dyno!
Gotta love helpful and happy tuners like Scotty! Sounds really good too!🤗
Boosted & Built Garage you need some of that Haltech goodness for the Surf. Mechanic fuel pumps are so 1980's!
@@Sandpitrikko Don't you worry mate, couldn't agree more. We'll be EFI-ing on the surf🙂
That section with Al and Tuning Fork was amazing; to think that the Haltech guys can do that remotely is mind blowing.
never thought I'd see a Bedford do a burnout. Well Done guys.
You guys are my favorite channel on the TH-cam. Keep up the great videos guys.
Scotty from Haltech on the phone remotely starting the Bedford.. That's incredible!
Lol, to us in the I.T. profession, that's pretty normal.
He was using some software to remote control Al's desktop.
@@himaro101 I should have thought that an IT professional could tell the difference between a desktop and a laptop
Yes, a fellow "I.T. Professional" here myself, I understand. What I was suggesting was how "normal" it is to call someone up, have them use your laptop, to start your 40 year old van remotely and then tell you what needs to be done. Not that it's very complicated, but the infrastructure required has snuck in much quieter than sci-fi movies and the like would have made you think. BASICALLY I'm saying, "Wow what a time we live in." The fact that he could be doing this from Antarctica, the Space Station, or the backyard, it's all the same thing, and it's all very impressive.
@@psk1w1 He was referring to the computer's desktop, not the computer type itself. Everyone's such a smart alec on here today! =D
That's an unusual way to bed in new brakes! Great work guys!
15:48 That'd be about $4.90 a gallon for my fellow fans that use freedom units. Adjusted for USD vs AUD as well.
For comparison in the UK right now it works out as USD6.43 per US Gallon
I just paid 3.18 USD for 89 octane in the Pacific Northwest USA and that's a little high for my 30 gallon gas tank in my truck and I get about 13mpg
Edit: but the state I live in takes 1% of our income for road use tax, then a few % road use tax when we pay property tax
@@ijmodified In the Pacific Northwest as well. $3.40 a gallon for mid is about as cheap as I see around my area. 87 is usually $3 a gallon though and my truck has about an 18gal tank and gets 30mpg so I cant really complain.
That mini burnout took me back to watching the A-team and seeing those BFG's getting lit up.
Bird chirps, Allan’s response “stares”
Little known fact, Al speaks Bird. And guess what, the little shits were talking about Hondas.
catfish552 That was a bird? I don’t know what kind of birds y’all got down there, but that sounds like the gates of hell opening.😳😳😳
You're hard work and dedication really shine ☀️ through on your final products! Gr8 work and thanks for stoking the motorsports fire 🔥! From an American 🇺🇸 living in Italy 🇮🇹 Arrivederci;-)
Gday blokes. What’s the goo that you schlepped on the rivnut holes?
well done Al. Well done Woody. One of the best shows on TH-cam. Cracking Stuff!
never in a million years did I think I'd hear Galapagos Duck mentioned in a petrol head video...
Watching this build, makes me drop back to 1988-89 when I bought my Bedford, simular to this one, white but full panel ( no windows in the back) No engine, no gearbox, the seller told me to throw in a Volvo engine+box = Nice wet dreams for a 16 yrs old..... Sadly I had to sell my Bedford ´cause my dad refused to help me. I am so glad to see this one done. Cheers.
Sitting in hospital with my 2m/o son. Every time I laugh he does too. Keep making these cracking vids boys.
This was an excellent build, top notch. And that sound...puts some main brand sports cars to shame, for sure. You guys rock!
Finally someone that knows how to prime a fuel system with an electric pump instead of just winding it over till it starts
Al with his 2 stroke goodness! nice work btw on the bedford.
There's something super futuristic about starting a car over the internet.
Flipsh0t He’s using Remote Desktop to control the computer that’s connected to the ACU, that type of technology has been around since at least windows vista I want to say. It’s kinda like connecting a computer to a printer via usb and then sharing the printer and printing from a second computer. Essentially, modern cars just have a Bluetooth or maybe wireless network interface to receive the signal and interpret commands sent from a controller.
Flipsh0t You’d be surprised. It may not be cars, but you can turn on and of course, turn off computers in various ways, and in some cases configured or booted over the internet. I work in a tech department and the admin can remotely tell me about every little internet outage before I even get a complaint. Technology is really cool; it is truly crazy to think if you set things up correctly, you can do just about anything with an internet connection.
@@bgroks1 ok, I don't want to start arguing over a throw away comment I thought was funny. I use remote desktop several times a week, like I said I understand. I do appreciate your enthusiasm though.
One step closer to downloading a car, hah! take that old school dvd's and video tape ads
Having an running engine right next to you seems like so much fun.

Sounded awesome. Hopefully a short revisit once its sheet metal is done, and then off to race.
Great work lads,
Millsie!
Neat, I have really been looking forward to seeing that Barra start and run in that Bedford.
15:50 - "that don't mean anything to Americans"
To Brits it means we pay ->13%- [ ed ] >33% more for fuel, we didn't pick a big-arsed country though ;0)
Bloody brilliant, love to get one of those ecu's for my XF barra build-simplifaction extraordinaire!
rofl at the fred durst comment
We need more footage of your dirt squirting days I love it😁 can almost smell that 2 stroke 🤤
Al rides a 2 stroke, makes sense
@ChrisHallett83 Dont need no turbo when you have a 2 stroke powerband
just seeing a CF doing a burnout is worth a thousand likes :D well done
$1.80 a litre for 98....mate in NZ it's $2.65 a litre
But nz gets dirt cheap rego. $1100 to rego a v8 in Queensland
It's £1.40 here in the UK at the moment! ($2.53 AUD & $2.73 NZD)
So yeah.... :(
My favorite build series so far good job guys
Yeah boi!!!

Internet tech support for a car... You are officially Tesla
Finally, that was awesome to see it up and running. Good work lads.
Early af!
Great job guys! Can't wait to see what's next. That's a killer sleeper
Canadians understand 1.899/Liter for 94.... No 98 here...
94 is rare enough around me ever since the Sunocos all turned to Petro Canada. But agreed, sick of hearing Americans complain about gas prices when in Ontario we're paying about 6.50/gallon for the exact same crap they're paying 2.50 for.
Preach. Americans don't seem to understand they have some of the cheapest gas around. The closest 94 is 2 hours from my house, and the next best is questionable 91, still expensive, forget about finding e85
@@MJTAUTOMOTIVE Close, AU/NZ use RON, NA use AKI (which is the avg. of RON and MON). Therefore a fuel of 98 RON & 90 MON would be labelled 98 or 94 respectively.
@@krallopian Americans are a funny bunch. A real love/hate relationship as a canadian.

Awsome episode, it's nearly as good as getting your own car rebuilt on the first start! Keep it up guys
My mind blew away when Scotty started the engine remotely. Great video mates. Greetings from Northern Germany. Keep it up!!!
Remote start is becoming a thing here..
Need to keep manual in neutral.. otherwise you're good.
Update: now I know it was the ecu start.. I am not really considering he's connected to the ecu via the PC.
Remote start is like using a keyfob programmed with a start sequence and having a remote starting module in your car.
Hello Germany ✋
wasnt remote start... just remote computer access.
McLaren did that with the MP4-12C. Grüße aus SH ;-)
He just used teamviewer to his laptop.
