omg when Sonny talks about his future with Lily and how there would be no cliffs to fall over...then we know in the end what happened to Brenda a few years later...*goosebumps*
This episode with Maurice & Kimberly Aka Sonny & Robin has me in tears all over again.. I hated when Stone ( Michael Sutton) got killed off!! They need to bring him back as a different character
Even Robin knew that Sonny and Brenda were supposed to be together but he cared more about the power he would get with being with Lily. Well until she goes clink boom and he's trying to get Brenda back.
To explain the whole Jason m hating Jason q and saying he was dead. It's simple he was. The accident left him like a new born. You aren't born with a personality, that forms, grows, and develops as you do. Thats what Jason went thru. It litterally was like a new person took over the body because it was. It would be like being who you are if you lost all experiences, memories, mannerism and development.
Exactly! That is why Sonny chose Lilly because she was loyal, discreet and didn't ask any questions plus she had lived the "life"! She was "trustworthy" and kept him out off a prison cell and they were friends after all...... And just like Jax told Brenda, Brenda was a luxury Sonny couldn't afford! Reckless, fearless, needs to know the answers doesn't take no for an answer! That and her choice to wear the wire made Brenda a liability to Sonny in his business and to his heart! Lilly truly was a the "perfect" mob wife for Sonny! A stepford wife, good for functionally and meeting basic functional needs in order to keep power and control not allowing for emotions! Emotions especially those for Brenda are a liability and could cost him everything he desires!
Krista Gerry Well technically he didn’t choose Lily he had to marry her to save his ass. Could he of tried to stay out of prison another way...sure but for real he needed Rivera’s muscle in order to strong arm his way out of it so actually Sonny chose Rivera and Lily was made a part of the deal cuz she asked her daddy for him. Also Brenda wasn’t some emotional hot head. Her life was in danger many times. Lily never really had to face danger head on. It’s easy to stay cool when you’re not the one getting shot up in your shower. Also easy to be “loyal” when your loyalty is never tested. Lily only seems perfect because her character was underdeveloped. Ultimately though Lily/Brenda were perfect rivals for Sonny. I actually wished Lily would have lived and I honestly see her turning into a villain in the end. Lily should have come back as Claudia Zacharra (well as Lily Rivera but like that character) to avenge her fathers death. Missed opportunity.

Sonny wasn't thinking of marrying Lily, he was actually getting back with Brenda until Lily's proposition. But in terms of who makes a good mob wife...see here's where I have an issue with the sexism of it all. There's no such thing as a perfect mob wife. The real life wives of mobster never adhered to any of the tropes (quiet, loyal, put up and shut up) that have been written into this story line. I hated Guza's madonna/whore complex...yuck. Ultimately I wanted Lily to have more agency, which meant to embrace her dark side and manipulative nature (her character would have had more fans if she was written like that actually).

His whole heart belonged and still belongs to Brenda. He's been with a lot of different women, and have given a piece of his heart. But his whole heart belongs to Brenda. I love how they have the look. When they see each other and look at each other, they both know they will always love each other. Sonny and Brenda were the early 90's and we still want to see Sonny with Brenda. Even Luke & Laura managed to find love with other people and it's believable. Sonny with anyone else other than Brenda is not believable.
I have to admit, I never got the appeal of Robin and Stone. She just seemed so young for him. And he was so glorified for nothing other than the fact he got sick from a careless lifestyle. Not trying to be judgmental here, I just don't get it.
I hear you. I loved how lil Robin love Stone she changed him. He was only like a year or two older, if that. Lil Robin just look very young she was like 16 or 17 at the time. Although, he was troubled he was also sweet and kindhearted. He fought for S&B to live while he was dying, very UNSELFISH. He supported lil Robin and loved her with all his heart and soul. My appeal to Robin and Stone was young love with a tragic ending.
Stone was a parallel to Sonny. Stone was a street kid, forced to live on the streets because of a broke family. Sonny met him when he was with other homeless kids warming up by the fire and took him in, exactly like Scully took Sonny in after he was kicked out of his mom's house for fighting with his stepdad Deke who used to beat him. Stone was a good kid just had a rough life and ended up contracting a deadly disease after hooking up with one of Sonny's dancers.
You have too remember AIDS was huge epidemic, back then 1981.first they thought it was only gay people who got it then they realized it wasn’t, also using dirty needles caused it! Then people who had blood transfusions were getting it.It was very scary time in 80&90. I thought they did a beautiful job with this story!

And whatever the humanity of the story, which was momentous, it seemed ridiculous that Stone was so deified when he was basically a druggie that got sick through his use of needles while he worked for a criminal.
