    Much respect to both GlamTwin.
    I love you ladies’ videos much!!! I’ve learned so much!
    I’d have to say heat from a diffuser- (indirect heat) shouldn’t disrupt the hair - as long as you continue your shampoo and deep condition your hair on a weekly or bi weekly basis. Trust it’s helped me and it is something shared and stated by natural hair stylists. I also have high porosity hair - which means - my hair requires a firm set with a hair dryer - and gel. To hold in the moisture.
    Don’t cut your hair often - if you want to grow out your hair. Split ends don’t travel if you have a good regimen (deep condition, and so fourth)
    As for cutting your hair - don’t over do it. I’m learning to cut only twice a year. My hair is growing and no my split ends aren’t traveling upward - cause I mind my ends with oil / and I

      @camhunts 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +7

      Split ends travel up no matter what friend. Conditioners only temporarily mend them, they don't go away. Once the hair cuticle becomes damaged you can't repair it without cutting. Hair is dead so it can't ever heal itself.

    • @Nicole-vo1rx
      @Nicole-vo1rx 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      You’re right about split ends. They don’t travel up like crazy when you’re already taking such good care of your hair.
      My hair is down to my butt, and whenever I do happen to get a trim, my hair stylist only needs to cut off an inch tops. And I go years without haircuts lol.. but I’m like you, I take good care of my hair between haircuts. I use sulfates, I use oil, I use silicone. I haven’t tried a diffuser yet tho, I’ve been wanting to.

    Hair looks so much better. Nothing wrong with wearing hair straight but there is no way to not compromise curls and cause damage eventually

    Hey Glam Kendra and Glam Kelsey if you’re watching. I’ve been watching your videos since you were in cosmetology school, and have been natural ever since. I literally have not used any heat in my hair since 2013, and at the tender age of 52, still have a head full of hair like the two of you.
    Thanks for enlightening your viewers on the importance of not using heat- as Kendra said “If it plugs into a wall, unplug it.” Allow your hair to air dry. Also, as I mentioned, I’m 52 so I do get a few grey hairs so I use a no ammonia hair color- demi, to touch up my roots every 45 days, so I don’t incur any heat damage. Loved loved loved this video. Thanks again Kendra.

    Im always worried about getting attached to Shea Moisture products because they discontinue lines after time. It’s happened to me several times. I literally stopped buying from them for years. Sucks….I did buy this line recently and liked it. Im glad you like it to. Lets just hope they don’t break our hearts AGAIN and discontinue the line. 🙄

    I started greying early. I colored my hair for almost 30 years.
    At first, I began coloring it less frequently and immediately saw a difference. When I stopped using color completely four years ago, my hair became less dry, more dense, and I’m *definitely* experiencing less breakage.

    First off, your curls look fabulous. Second, I love the tips and your transparency. You guys have always kept it 💯, even when you two were splitting your curly/straight hair routines. With your trial and error it will give new curlies knowledge of what you have learned about your own hair. Also, I love how you and Kelsey have mentioned how hair changes as we age. I know mine has I see a difference in my own hair. I do have the bond repair masque, but I need to get the rest of the line as well just to get the full experience. Very appreciative that you did this video.❤

    These tips are helpful. Luckily, I used these same tips to help with heat damage in the past.
    This may be controversial but I am trying to get my hair trimmed every three months. Getting two trims a year does not work for me. I always need a few inches cut. I have determined that I must need a trim before I can see/feel it. So hopefully being more proactive will help me retain length and maintain density.
    Edited for grammar.

    Going heat free (as in heat styling tools like blow dryers and flat irons) has helped a lot, however, hot oil treatments and deep conditioning with heat helps make my curls pop as well. I would heat up some oil and apply that to my hair and put on a shower cap with a bonnet or hat for some time before doing my regular wash routine. I have also used a hot cap to do oil treatments or deep condition my hair. Styling my hair with a hard hold gel also helps my curls pop and trains them to be more defined.

      It's okay for you to give up the flat iron just don't push giving up the flat iron on another woman who is natural. Also do not make comments about her curly hair texture when she goes back curly

    Great tips! Sad, at least where I live, stylist can't cut hair that's in it's curly natural state. I have to straighten it to get it cut. I would say I like going back and fourth but maybe one day I will comment to just my natural curl. It is so beneficial during the summer months. Thanks for the info. 🥰

  • @mslyn083061
    @mslyn083061 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

    What about turning down the temperature on the flat iron and only use one pass through? Also a very good leave in conditioner and a very good heat protector is vital. Also flat ironing once a week and wrapping the hair at night will help keep it straight and moisturizing is essential. Hair vitamins are very good as well. The reason that I’m saying this is for versatility. Mizani has excellent products for anyway a person wants to wear their hair. My beautician said sometimes hair needs to rest. She waved my hair for a year and I did have a relaxer. My hair grew so fast. It was almost on my shoulders The reason that I suggested wrapping the hair is because my friend said a co worker had worn her hair wrapped and it grew so fast Also if the hair is roller set it grows well. And there is limited heat. Only the dryer heat. These are just some suggestions.

      Let's normalize people changing their minds then not questioning why they changed their mind. It's a little intrusive to ask about the change like that in someone's life especially when it comes to a woman's hair. Maybe on a video she will volunteer that information don't be insensitive. Just enjoy the videos that she took time to put out versus asking intrusive questions. Normalize people volunteering information

    I love the Sheamoisture hair masque. Actually, it was one of your videos Kendra, that put me on. I saw the line advertised but decided to purchase after your endorsement. I think a missed opportunity for those who are seeking heat protection is that the Sheamoisture bond repair line also includes a bond repair oil with heat protection. And speaking of the oil, it will be the first oil that I will finish completely! It is lightweight, my hair feels soft after applying, and it smells divine, just like the other products. Lastly, as a full-time curly myself, I use both a hooded dryer, diffuser, my hair is color treated with bleach, and my hair is flourishing…with inches. So, I don’t blame the heat tools or hair color (or bleach), I blame the user. Some people, whether they are a “natural hair stylist” or not, simply do not know what they are doing and it shows. I won’t start a forest fire by naming names, I will just leave that right there. 😇
